Ah we are like ships that pass in the night and the morning now.

Was a bit mad from Locarno basin to ardmillan tonight, then I had a two bus scenario to deal with on Lanark road

Regular see this Bullitt delivery bike around Victoria St most mornings around 9.30.

Equipped with large plastic boxes and other boxes to nest within. Think guy delivers to Hula and some other places.

Sorry no zoom on this! Would make a good subject to add to the working bikes thread. I reckon the city might have more than six bikes being used for enterprises ranging from bratwurst, juice bar and deliveries...

Still small number but noticeable - as is the trend to smaller powered vans.

I spotted this Bullie guy the last time we met for coffee at PY as I was heading to work, passing Greyfriars Bobby.

Greenroofer said, some months ago @Uberuce, re your claim about not showing off on the go karts at East Links...

I have a spy aged six and eleven twelfths whose testimony of the day at East Links would tend to support the claim that you were showing off, rather than refute it. :-)

For those not in the know, East Links Family Park has a range of rather splendid pedal powered vehicles suitable for adults (go karts + trailers, four-seat golf buggies etc). The temptation for keen cyclists to experiment with the maximum speed of these vehicles is quite strong, but, Uberuce, it must be resisted.

Do I still have to resist it when I've got a new Strava-toy to play with?

    "couldn't see the bike"

Think we need to clarify the rules here...

I could see mostly buff, and yellow handlebars. but definitely thought profile looked familiar. handlebars not - so maybe not one of ours.

i thought there were two widely recognized types of spots:

    1. someone known to us

    2. a bike which is interesting by virtue of its novelty and/or style

You didn't seriously expect a thread on here to remain completely on topic? I think it's quite the accomplishment the thread is still talking about spotting anything!

Two helionauts making good progress on Colinton Road this evening. Coxswean was extremely cheerful and gave me a broad smile as I passed. We went our separate ways at the Gray's Loan junction, and the pilot was concentrating (and pedalling) too hard to respond to my greeting.

    @SRD Well I did wonder :-)

... I try to avoid falling into the trap of it's a Helios so it must them.

The only Helios I can identify with certainty is that belonging to HankChief, but that has unique markings (and I see it most days so can keep up with the way its appearance changes)

Council mini-tractor ploughing and gritting Middle-Meadow and North Meadow Walks c. midnight tonight. Waved and dinged my bell in encouragement, it felt like I was cycling home in a proper cycling culture. Lifted my spirits so much it did.

Aye, sneaking out of his car in Barnton. Truth is, just cant find any motivation to cycle the full distance this year, finding any excuse not to. It's all a bit, well, 'yawn' at the moment when it comes to commuting.

I would have conversed more if it weren't for the anticipation of that wee hill which I was aware was going to need all the oxygen my decrepit lungs could muster.
