I dunno what was going on, unless that's normal. I passed 71 cars when I was there ~40 min later, assuming I didn't skip any, which I know I did, so don't assume that.

Lionfish and minimoth, cunningly disguised as pedestrians, at the railway bridge by Robertson Avenue. I waved but was too far into the periphery of vision to be seen.

I spied a lady with a pink road bike, a pink helmet and assorted matching coloured items of clothing yesterday. Once at about 07.15 on Stenhouse Drive and again at about 16.20 on the Broomhouse Path. Didn't note the bike make either times though.

Also spied a really vivid blue road bike in the racks at work - what I noticed first was the impressive electric blue bar tape. Again, didn't get the bike make (edit: it's a Bianchi).

  7. Stylish Sikh chap in a light blue turban with an almost matching light blue folding bike crossing the Royal Mile from the top of the Mound to George IV Bridge this morning. Had to whip the camera out of the bag quickly while I sat at the red going up the hill he looked so darned dapper.

Dave C, just north of 'the Red Bridge'. (That's Crewe Toll for all you Southsiders!) Mutual spot and chat. He on well maintained Cotic, I on slightly less well maintained Super Galaxy.

I saw two people chatting just to the north of the red bridge at a quarterish to nine. Loads of other bikes elsewhere on NEPN and only two impatient tubes.

That's wrong.... must have been Monday surely?

Small wheeled Carry Freedom trailer - think I know that very crossing. Bit of a ramp up.

    Oh yes,

    One holiday is like another..

    "Bit of a ramp up."

Indeed - was slightly surprised he made it.

Weight on 'bents is very much over back wheel - still subject to wheelspin though!

Conversely if you do a hill on an upright you tend to stand on pedals which takes weight off rear drive wheel. If you were to sit on saddle then you might 'wheelie'. On a recumbent you already are to a degree.

Uberuce steaming through the Polwarth intersection and turning into Harrison Park.

(I mention this only because the smallest member of his fan club was disappointed that his 'hello' wasn't reciprocated)

Apologies to the wee yin. I had tired myself out being childish on Strava and didn't have any brain CPU cycles left over for not-on-road things.

Shortly before that, I did however espy one Anth.

Chap head-to-toe in brand new looking Gore cycling gear and spotless Hump brand rucksack and helmet cover almost getting rear ended by me and the car behind when his chain did a most alarming crunk-thunk-drop-jam thing as he attempted to right turn out of Gilmour Place in a hurry.

I had been too busy musing why he appeared to be covered in rainwater when it had been dry. Perhaps the quantity of kit he was wearing had given him the sweats.

There was a moment when I was looking thinking it does look like Bruce - but I had the knitted jumper and hat image from the whisky ride in my head, so the lycra took a moment to process...

Mutual spot with gembo, I think I waved hello.

I can never remember what Mr SRD looks like though! Is there usually a miniSRD or microSRD in tow?

@Uberuce: QOM, surely, for me? Reminds me that I haven't been on Strava for ages.
