Leaves Waverley 15:13
CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 15years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.
RULES No personal insults. No swearing.

Leaves Waverley 15:13
Lovely thorn tandem at Scotmid in Balerno this lunch time, Skyfall intercity 125 in Waverley train station yesterday
Spotted Alycidon going through Prestonpans at a rate of knots at twenty past twelve.
Late afternoon I spotted Kim (I think) chatting with a couple of people near Granton Square. There was also a blue Nazca Fuego recumbent there, so I nearly stopped, but I was on a mission.
Were any forumists at the ERC road race around Gifford this morning ? If you spotted a tourist in a blue top riding a Croix de Fer that might have been me. I just did 3/4 of a lap in the opposite direction to the race. The Lammermuirs were providing a great backdrop as the bunch climbed out of Gifford.
@Charterhall I clocked you coming out of Gifford, I was marshalling and standing at the side of the road in an orange tabard. I think we exhanged waves / hellos.
Arellcat disguised as car passenger on a flyby of LBB?
In LBB itself, a spot of a bike so magnificently non-standard even David Gardiner couldn't ride it at first. It's a piece of...well, it's not homebrew since many parts were made to order at various CNC and plastics workshops, so really it's bespoke engineering, but either way a unique creation. I'll leave it for David to describe further in case it's hush-hush, since it's intended for commercial production.
Suffice to say, the existing two wheel version is waaaay above my hand/eye co-ordination and inner ear's pay grades, but my redundant residual upper body strength and I would absolutely love a go on a trike version. Which would sadly be above my real life pay grade, but hey ho.
Nelly were you out side the Crammond Brig this morning? I was driving past and didn't recognise the bike but I was sure it was you.
I saw the clan SRD's bikes secured out side the zoo this morning too. I made the mistake of driving there on a sunny day, St. Johns road was chaos and the car park was full any way.
steveo - all the clever folk park out back the forestry commission building.
we had a great time trying to get from balgreen to the zoo on the railway path - completely unsignposted.
"we had a great time trying to get from balgreen to the zoo on the railway path - completely unsignposted"
Think the 'entrance' is still missing -

Never thought of that... ended up round the newbuild at pinkhill.

There is the beast. If you imagine a cross-trainer tilted back eighty degrees then set on two wheels, that's roughly what it is.
Steveo, yep was me out Cramond way yesterday. Out with mates on a (early and supercold) ride out toward queensferry, kirkliston etc.
Lovely day.
Was the first outing on a geared bike for about 6 months - felt really odd!
As an aside, can anyone tell me if that A90 path, which has loads of litter, is it still a CEC responsibility? Going to tweet them for a cleanup.
Now that is a spot!
The winged pig, somewhat off his usual commutation beat heading into town along Dalry Road.
Kaputnik in late-recognition-inducing black. WoL/NEPN Leith-to-Roseburn is one of my regular routes when I can't be bothered with the fumes and tubery of Grange Road; today's variation was Dalry/Morrison/Torphichen instead of Fountainbridge/Semple or variants thereof involving either/or Henderson/Telfer/Springside.
Yesterday morning: a possible DaveC, again just north of the red bridge, presumably doing something rain-preparation-related.
Yesterday evening: DaveC and unidentified accomplice going wide coming south off the red bridge.
This morning: a red paperbike being loaded into the back of a police van outside Queen Charlotte St police station.
Wingpig by Morningside clock, shortly followed by Arellcat terrorising the simple driving folk of Morningside Road in the Quest.
Wingpig. Did I follow you down clark street/north bridge today around lunchtime ? Do you ride a recumbent ?
steve
Nup. I'm a red upright with green pannier.
I stopped to take some photos of the rubbish new things on the Broomhouse and a chap coasted up asking if I had suffered a fairy attack.
On discovering my photographic intent, he guessed it was for this very forum, and we swapped usernames, although, I didn't hear yours, or indeed whether it was a user name or a name name, not that such a distinction is always needed. Think it ended in 'en' Hello, anyway.
Think it ended in 'en'
AKen?
Hope all avoided the wonderful smattering of smashed green bottle glass on the Broomhouse Path near the bus stop opposite Broomhouse Medway this morning...
sg that was prolly me :)
@kaputnik: that or Bhachgen. Pretty sure it was two syllables.
@Meepmeep Newps, hoverboards don't get invented for another two years, remember? I had to put my faith in my Marathons, which seemed to come through unscathed.
Arellcat on buclleuch st c 4pm
Aw damn, Oobz. Where did you hide the waiting list?
It's in Obree's mental prone velocipide thing. If he hits 88mph, we all get one.
@uberuce
I have a curious defect in my make-up, well as shakes said "in my nature reigns all frailties"
But specifically, when exchanging names with someone at the exact point in time where I should be listening extra hard to hear their name, I get distracted. I am 100% wrong.
"I have a curious defect in my make-up, I am 100% wrong."
Did I miss something...
Claggy Cog, as I was returning from a successful 84-litre jobbie hunt at B&Q in Kinnaird park. Oh. Wait. Not that successful because I was supposed to remember to ask Anth if he was around so I could pick up those vests while I was in the area. I forgot.
Mr SRD and co-pilot, who I met only because a walking group of advanced age was taking up the canal ahead of me and I bailed onto HP east.
