Bit of a combined "Spotted" and "Cyclist down":

Approaching Cramond Brig on my way back from a 40 miler round Fife, I found a recumbent and rider looking slightly worse for wear in the cutting just before the path reaches The Brig (perhaps he's a CCE member?) He'd suffered a front end collapse (the bike, not the rider!) but fortunately his wife was just moments away. Hope he got home ok and his stead is easily repaired.

@Uberuce I think he was last seen on St. Kilda, so you're probably alright on that front.

Half thought I saw Claggy Clog myself coming up the hill into East Saltoun, but wasn't sure

LaidBack finishing the Tour o' the Borders this morning.

Think the 'bent was probably the best choice of bike given the horrendous headwind, torrential rain and several places where wading was required.

Only just.... it was tough on anything today. Three LB bikes came back.

Long route was mercifully flooded... new thread to share on this.

Excitable Boy bumped into Darksider, John and I at the Russell Road alpines during their maiden run on the oogly recumbent/upright tandem.

You might be amazed to hear this, but he guessed first time that the device had come from LaidBack's stable.

Chap with beard & green helmet on helios type tandem with no stoker but child in child seat. Went past me in one direction near the Coop on Gorgie Road and a minute or two later came back the other way. I was wearing running kit & carrying a big bag of shopping.

Mr SRD + Miss SRD southbound at Myreside Rd/Colinton Rd lights this evening. I waved. Mr SRD was busy, but Miss SRD waved cheerily back.

I think I spotted Kaputnik on the road back from peebles between two other cyclists. I recognised his saddle bag anyway. Wasn't sure if it was him. Approx 1:45.
Also Laidback and dave on TOB.

I spotted kaputnik's cap tonight turning right off fountainbridge as I was heading down to Gorgie LIDL to return my gilet as the zip broke on the pocket after one zip.

You did. +1 other competitor +1 other marshal. We were happily getting blown along ~ 30mph without much effort. Was wondering how so many TotB riders seemed to be heading up the road "early" and were wondering if the weather had caused abandonments, as indeed it had.

Was meant to be a fourth with us, but Colin had a very unfortunate day and punctured a tub on the way to the race and when we went to leave his rear was also flat, so he got the team bus instead.

Not a spot but in the spirit of customary thread digression... To the chap on the mountainbike who drafted me all along South Gyle Crescent this morning - I very much appreciated the "thank you" but, really, that was cheating!

Spotted the winged pig accelerating up Strathearn Place this morning as I was making my way towards the Meadows. Good headlight too!

Dave yesterday, Arellcat this morning. My light is presumably now re-angled correctly after being thumped against the doorframe on its way out of the shed.

Yellow Windcheater trike with Streamer fairing today in the University area - ex Arellcat?

Unusual amongst the sea of diamond frames usually found tied up in the area.

Oh, and a cycle chic moment in the winds yesterday - a stylish young lady completely with wide-brimmed straw hat, walking a mixte framed steed along South College Street. Not certain how she managed to retain the hat under the prevailing conditions!

Spotted chdot on his bike yeasterday at 16:55 outside the Museum of Scotland cycling towards the University. I was on foot with two week boys having just been to a free Lau gig at The Bongo Club. I shouted 'Hello Ch...' and think I got a recognition from him but he didn't look round.

    Ah.

    Didn't recognise voice.

Too busy filtering between taxis to look round.

@ Uberuce from a week ago:

"On discovering my photographic intent, he guessed it was for this very forum, and we swapped usernames, although, I didn't hear yours, or indeed whether it was a user name or a name name, not that such a distinction is always needed. Think it ended in 'en' Hello, anyway."

It was BenN! (Indeed, perhaps it is time for a more flamboyant user name...)

Black Bullit parked outside the bank on Bruntsfeild Pl and Montpellier Pk this morning as I was leaving the dentist. Forget who the company is.

Brand new mint green Brompton in the bike park at work. Brooks saddle, titanium forks and rear triangle, dynamo (but not the SON one), front bag. The complete works: someone's got the Brompton catalogue and gone 'I'll have one of them, and one of them and one of them and one of them...' and then written a monster cheque for their n+1. Lucky, lucky them.

In other news, a woman on the towpath this morning whose striking red hair matched exactly with her orange and black top. I don't think it was an accident. It brings a whole new meaning to accessorising your bike.

Dave, southbound on Buccleuch Street. I was approaching from NMW heading home from work, so doubt there's a reciprocal...

And in the morning, the electrically assisted Yuba Mundo whilst I was fire stewarding (just the builders, again, twice this week!).

Either a reverse spot by someone of this parish, or there is a mischievous gent who likes wearing shades and a bandido-style buff over his face then waving at other cyclists to see who waves back without the(nigh-impossible) step of recognising him first.

This afternoon, while manhandling the tandem out of the stair streetwards ro take the eldest to football training, our jaws dropped to see a young couple pootling around our street on a Dawes tandem (Duet Discovery or Double Edge I think judging by paint job). "Another tandem!" son and I chimed in chorus. Smiles all around.

We spotted them again as our different loops intersected a minute or two later.
