"on her own"
Careful - you'll have the Daily Mail after you...
CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 15years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.
RULES No personal insults. No swearing.

Oh and -
Cycling on the pavement...!!
Min. I think. Crossing western end of Melville Terrace on the toucan crossing
"junior, who was on the pavement alongside"
I gather she did the final stage on the road....
"on her own"..."Careful - you'll have the Daily Mail after you..."
well, I think we'll keep on with supervision...at least until she turns 4 :)
kaputnik (?) Riding up Morrison Street yesterday evening. Black bike with red bar tape.

Not guilty! blue / white bike with yellow tape yesterday and came home through Gimour Place rather than Morrison St.
Ha! Spotted kaputnik coming form the south bridge about 1750 yesterday. blue bike yellow wheels, yellow bar tape. Funnily enough I have no idea what the rider looked like...

Man, I'm rubbish at this game.... :(

Sorry! Foiled again! I didn't leave work at South Gyle until 6, and my blue / yellow / white bike runs on blue tyres.
There's quite obviously an impostor out there!
doh! i think it was the rims that were yeller...

I think I know the bike you mean, I've seen a blue bite with yellow rims and tape doing South Bridge. very distinctive. I think it's a cannondale.
Oooh, in the early 1990s, my Dad got a very flash Cannondale road bike in white/blue, with yellow tape for triathlons. At least in our part of the world, those big white tubes were rather spottable. I think he got it through the guy who opened the second bike shop, which explains why they weren't that common. Unfortunately, he gave it to my brother a couple of years ago.
ahh but what did the rider look like?
but what did the rider look like?
no idea! was far too busy admiring his ride!
Recumbent trike slogging up Wester Hailes Road towards Gillespie crossroads about 0830 this morning.
Must be one of LaidBack's customers? Or was it a veloquad with one wheel stolen by the oiks of WH?
JUST seen Policeman/bike in Waterloo Place.
So shocked didn't take photo.
Do I get extra points for 'out of season' AND not in a pair??
How very odd. I saw a solo bike polis in the Castle Terrace car park as I was riding down (don't ask) at lunchtime today.
"Min. I think. Crossing western end of Melville Terrace on the toucan crossing "
Nope not me. Can it be possible that there is another person as stylish? (cough)
"I saw a solo bike polis in the Castle Terrace car park"
Maybe same one.
Maybe an impostor who doesn't have a friend.
I think I hit the jackpot a little bit today. First I spotted a guy practicing his ninja trials skillz on Valleyfield St, riding an Inspired Bicycles bike -- alas it wasn't Danny Macaskill, but he was very cheerful. Then penetrated Dave's cloak of invisibility as he sped past Bernard Terrace on his lowracer. Then 'spotted' LaidBack outside TBW, then a bit later spotted RJ cycling past. Then spotted alanr (I think?) getting a bit of tuning up done at TBW.
I'm now soaking wet, freezing cold, and going for a bath! :>
Arrelcat, I'm 99% sure you mean this bike that doesn't belong to Hugh Mackaskill (spotted earlier this year in Marchmont on a pit stop from performing tricks outside the cheese van). I saw it too on Valleyfield on my route home this evening. You must have been close behind or ahead of me.
That's the very one, kaputnik. I stopped to chat to him for a few minutes, I guess it was a bit past 5pm.
Edit: I was on the Brompton today, so therefore notionally invisible by associating myself with a normally uninvisible bicycle.
So I get a "spot, once removed" (X2) for that!
Saw "someone" on a 3-wheeled recumbent type thing heading along Slateford Road this evening. It's on my regular commute - although I was a wee bit later than usual. One question - can these things not actually go in a straight line?
When you think about it, there's no chance of it wobbling as it has three wheels. Presumably the pilot has chosen his course intentionally (for whatever reason).
Pub kicking out time?
Anth (?) trucking along (wind assisted) the Meadows aboout 1745 yesterday while i was struggling into the headwind the other way.
I was tucking wind-assisted across the meadows at that precise time. I turn off on Argyle Place
Nah this was closer to the Clark Street end. Must have just missed a double spot of upright bikes, that would have been a record.
