    @recombodna - mission accomplished!

I also managed a spot of Hugh (username?) heading into and out of Lochrin Place.

Nice day for eyeing up bikes and cyclists - lots of styles on show with a bit of sun, everything from roadies, striped mountain bikers (where'd they find the mud?), lesser spotted pavement cycler, BSOs heading to the bookies, vintage, Helios tandem, half faired upright, and an older bike with old MTB tyres for handlebar tape??

Something Andy and I "spotted" on our trundle yesterday - worth a look if you are in the Eskbank area:

The Solar Meadow at Edinburgh College

You just need to go in a short way into the road entrance of the college and it's on the left.

Any number of lovely devices out on the Innertube hunt. Bit of Bob Jackson here, bit of classic Dawes Galaxy there, a oh-you're-a-female-cyclist?-Obviously-you-want something-stiff-as-a-board-that-goes-like-stink-but-has-smaller-handlebars-and-a-shorter-toptube Cube roadie, Bleuth's amazing Thorn tubeset melánge with accompanying Reynolds badge, and a beautifully maintained Mercian of no mean vintage.

Also saw a Finnish Lapphund, the identification of which impressed the bejesus out his owner. Wilmington's Cow, you are a genius.

Spotted that bloke who came out on the fearsomely windy Porto-Velo run that amir, recombodna and I did, still on the big chunky EBC hybrid that was the death of him on that day.

Chap who commutes on rollerblades along the NEPN. I invited him to Blade on Parliament, a name that is extremely poor for reasons of police nervousness and acronym, so I'm glad I thought of it now, and not then.

Did anyone get a picture of DdF on my tandem?

Alas not. I did get the picture of the two K's on it, but my phone's software is being obstinate at the minute.

@roibeard If I'd spotted you a moment earlier I would have pulled the van over and chucked a few quids in yer boat... but it was not safe to do so. "Mon the lifeboats"!!!!!

Mr Kaputnik this morning, as I partook of a bacon n' black pudding roll, musing on the mahoosive queue of cars through the Meadows and the cyclists breezing by and pondering how many motorists would have been able to prop up their car next to the mobile salmonella van to indulge in some unhealthy breakfast offering in the sun while on the morning commute (had a lot going through my head this morning).

Reminds me, I have a photo of a brick from my Hebridean trip to show you.

I totally failed to reciprocally spot you, Bruce. I was probably concentrating so much on steering around all the craters and not destroying my front suspension.

Not really a spot, but a certain Strava segment that has me as QOM and Uberuce as KOM. :-)

Arellcat, did you have a (nearly) fully fared 'bent in the office yesterday?

And Gembo who was kind enough to give me a bit of shelter before slateford road got wide enough that I could come along side.

Spotted ch*** on F*****t R**d heading for To*n on his Wh**e racer bike. Too far ahead before I recognised you to shout a greeting. I was in disguise as a pedestrian on the pavement on Forrest Road heading for Town.

Possible Greenroofer on green Brompton, bedecked luminous jacket scenario thanking me for waiting for him to come off the slateford aqueduct tonight?

Uce of the Uber variety parking his blue steed outside FountainPark circa 17.15 this evening. I was stealthily disguised as a Mr MeepMeep-chaperoned pedestrian slinking off to the corner shop to buy cheaper fizzy juice and popcorn for a trip to Cineworld.

Do believe that's my first forum spot!

Your stealth defeated my observational powers entirely, MeepMeep. Does Mr. MeepMeep know he's called Mr. MeepMeep and if so does he like it? I guess the acid test will be the expression on his face when he is introduced as such.

If you noticed me muttering and swearing at the two flavours of rubbish bike parking there, it's because I was muttering and swearing at the two rubbish parking options. Who in their right mind would think the wheelbender wasn't injurious enough to bikes, and therefore invent the framebender?

In happier news, Iron Man 3 in IMAX was uzzm.

@chdot I have seen it busier than that. Do you know there are covered racks in the car park that anyone can use.? Go in the drivers entrance cycle to the far end of the multi storey near the stairs and they are there, with no one using them, even in rainy conditions. Waverley court also has about 100 staff cycling. One of the pool bikes has also gone out, the Brompton, first time in four months, the pool bunnet has gone with it (EBC cloth cap)

@Gembo - possible Greenroofer indeed, if it was about half-fivish. The Brompton's black not green, but everything else matches: I was in my usual fluorescent top and for good measure I'd put the fluorescent cover on the front bag so should have been quite spottable.

I remember passing someone as I left the aqueduct and thinking that the face was familiar. Sorry not to acknowledge you: I was still coming down off concentrating very hard after riding a small-wheeled bike across wet cobbles close to, and two feet above, a lot of dark cold water.

This one's a bit late, as it relates to an interesting bike spotted on Tuesday.

Northbound at Morningside Junction traffic lights on Tuesday evening (5-ish) a black flat-barred Cube(?) hybrid with disc brakes, an Alfine hub and bright blue tyres. I was pushing my black flat-barred Raleigh hybrid with disc brakes, an Alfine hub and boring black tyres at the time. I complimented the rider on her tyres, and she replied that she gets lots of comments about them...

@Ubez, Mr MeepMeep is called a lot worse (often by me) so his forum handle doesn't phase him. We saw Olympus Has Fallen. Predictable action flick but not a total waste of twenty quid.

Spied you yesterday afternoon too through the meadows. I was lycra-clad - red to colour co-ordinate with my bike obviously, probably wearing a very pained expression after 7 hours on my bike. Nearly 4 of which were into that god awful headwind back from Dunbar.
