@SRD those pink East Coast Organics apples are way too sour for my taste...
We had delicious brambles in Wales - especially some that had been growing in the sun and were big and ripe. Boyfriend reports some nice ones round here, too.

After a null harvest from our two apple trees last year, this year was much better. The Egremont russet gave us the most apples yet (it's about 7 years old), many dozens but quite small. The ballerina disappointed with only 4 (it's about 8) and is now bizarrely tall - the ballerina is a columnar tree.

Man cycling down to the Kings Theatre in rush hour on an old bike, complete with full-sized cello strapped onto his back. What the?! Impressive balancing there.

Just a moment ago - a police van, stopped at a red light on Potterrow, entirely in the Advanced Stop Line box reserved for bicycles.

Commute home yesterday, saw Sustrans people at the T-junction of Chancelot Path and Warriston Path with a sign saying they were doing interviews.
At the same time, a Doctor Bike 'clinic' at the five ways junction- looked busy.
Oh, and DaveC this morning - now a fairly regular spot on NEPN.

Claire - I saw a woman with a cello strapped to her back yesterday evening at Wester Coates, although she was pushing her bike on the pavement at the time.

@steveo actually I thought you were someone completely different! Could have gotten confusing...

I spotted the orange Orange CX bike with the large trailer again yesterday evening departing the Gyle. It transpires there's a large black and happy-looking poodle being transported in the back.

Reverse spot of Riffian, and nice wave back. Still nice to see a few children cycling along the NEPN to school/nursery. I gave one a spare slapstrap I had the other day (via the parent). He appeared quite chuffed :O) Lovely to see young children cycling/commuting, makes cycling appear more inclusive, and not just an adult thing. The quicker the authorities grasp we commute by cycle and not just as a past time, the better!

    Curious use of ASLbox

I went into box and motioned to these two that they were allowed to use box.

    Got acknowledgment but no movement!??

That's weird. I've seen plenty go past the box, never anyone afraid of it before!

@chdot, at first I thought you meant that mahoosive double decker occupying the ASL on the left!

Spotted ARobComp trackstanding at the lights at the junction of Brougham Place / Home Street as I was crossing with my daughter.

Sorry I didn't say hello. Was VERY tired yesterday after ERC fast group in the morning.

Hopefully I was doing a good trackstand and not creeping forward. Sometimes I get a bit unbalanced at that junction.

Arellcat yesterday out in East Lothian in her red bullet. The other Hervelo ladies were quite enthused.

    Busy on the Innocent

Yesterday, though later I returned through the Tunnel without a single person in either direction.

Two quadbikes and a scooter being driven on the path just beyond there yesterday evening. The Scooter and one of the quads came through the tunnel into the old Big W carpark giving the old lady who was sitting on the rock having a breather from walking her dog a bit of a fright.

The other quadbike was on the grass to left of the photo being driven by a child with an adult-sized motorcycle helmet on while the assembled "responsible adults" watched on.

MeepMeep, did I leave enough space when I overtook your group? I wasn't sure if I was too close for comfort.

Spotted the tandem-totin' SRD today along Gilmore Place.

the number of people who see me on a bike and believe it is a tandem (even when it's a folder) is mildly amusing.

In karmic balance news, when you were taking your bikes home from chdot's I thought you were on neither the folder nor the tandem, when you were arguably riding both.

With the stoker saddle obscured by a load, the tandem looked more like an 8-Freight, although what I really want to know is whether I still would have made that guess if chdot hadn't been there too.

Another thingmy is that you're not quite on a bike when you're on the Dahon, in the sense of being on any old bike - you're on another black flat-bar with 20" wheels, and from the front there isn't a huge visual difference. I wonder what the results would be if you were riding a 26" or 700c wheel black bike.

Arellcat: plenty of room, thanks. It seemed at least more than the cars following you gave when overtaking you.

First definite spot of a head cam :-)
Person on a red mountain bike coming down Ardmillan Terrace and heading along Dalry Road between 7:25 and 7:30 this morning. Square thing on his helmet must have been a camera, not a light.

I saw that same chap, or at least another MTBnaut with a GoPro. Foot of Ashley Terrace at that time, anyway.

Monday I saw a man on a singlespeed tandem with a length of pipe across the bars. It looked pretty well attached, so either he's fastidious even with temporary fittings, or it serves some other purpose.
