sensible stuff. Particularly keeping left. Too many cyclists here seem to "drive" on the right, particularly round blind corners!

I spotted my MP Mr Lazarowicz on Sunday cycling down Rodney Street and turning right onto Broughton Road. Nice to know that he is a cyclist in his own time and not just for photo-ops.

Spotted a City Chambers-bound Councillor Burns and then a homeward-bound same yesterday. I keep meaning to yell at him to enquire when Gilmour Place / Kings Theatre junction will get resurfaced...

Someone who might well be Arellcat (not sure, as we've never met) at Morningside Junction at 5-ish this evening.

If it was Arellcat, then I was the cyclist waiting at the end of Balcarres Street at the time that you dismounted and went to wait for the green man. Had the lights not changed for me, I would have introduced myself. I was not the cyclist in front of you at the traffic lights a few seconds before who did what seemed a very unwise manoeuvre through a light that looked very red beside the Number 23 turning into Balcarres Street.

Definitely Dave taking advantage of the tailwind and a clear towpath this morning. We pass each other quite regularly, and it always strikes me how visible, but not distracting, his front light is. The towpath is turning into the winter nightmare of ridiculously dazzling lights, and passing a high-quality light that is properly set up is always a pleasure!

    It was.

Neither in red, nor on a Brompton.

Unfortunately riding a Brompton doesn't make you distinctive any more: they are getting quite common. Even I've got one.

A person on a yellow bike with a green Carradice with a very flashy red light on it - filtering through lots of heavy traffic about 6:30ish or just after along Slateford Road heading into town. Just wondered if it was someone on here...

4 bromptoms with well dressed ladies on them in the space of 40 seconds around clapham junction towards the CS8 this morning. (I'm in that london)

They've done up the CS8 and painted it properly. They're also finally expanding the boris bikes out to battersea which is AMAZING as thats where I stay when I'm here.

Two trikes in as many days. One being piloted up Ashley Terrace, rider unknown; the other piloted down Argyle Place, rider LaidBack.

Yes... that wasn't my trike but merely test riding.

Had a visit from the Zöhrer tandem couple today. Bike was built in Rio it turns out. They are maybe going to join the forum although they are in Glasgow most of the time. Recumbent riding in Rio has to be quite assertive they say.

Chap with a "Open Street Map Surveyor" vest on cycling between Hutchison Path and heading gylewards later on the Broomhouse path.

Yes that was me, moved house last week and it was the first time I've tried the Hutchison Path route. Rather than my usual run along the canal or Russell Road/Corstorphine route out.

I take it that you're just ahead of me here waiting for the lights?

@fimm - it does indeed sound a bit like me, although if it was yesterday perhaps not as I left work early about 4.30 in the orrible rain.

If it was tuesday, the time works - almost certainly me and was doing some funtime filtering there.

Spotted another tandem yesterday on my way home, but no stoker, just the steerer. Most move by magic ;O)

    @Nelly, yes, Tuesday.
I have two rear lights and a "hump" rucksack cover. I went leftish into the area between the brewery and Gorgie Road when you were going straight on at the Robertson Avenue junction.

@chrisfl indeed that's me, the yellow peril. I cut onto the Hutchison path behind you and figured you were either slightly lost for the turn (you have to make that bit up, there's no official version) or maybe going to do some mapping or something so nipped round ahead of you.

Some people in doing filming/interviewing in the bike station this afternoon. They were talking to the staff and volunteers, sounded like a promotional thing, I think it was pre-arranged.

Meanwhile, with myself being one of the only customers in at this time, I kept pawing through the drawers looking for random and interesting parts.

@kaputnik - indeed, was trying to remember what my plan was to get out of the estate, saw you nip past and thought you looked like you knew the way :) so I followed.

Although, I went straight across Gorgie Road, along Ford's Road, and then round the back up Stenhouse Avenue before catching up with you on the path.

@chrisfl I prefer going straight across, but can't be bothered waiting sometimes so turn left up Gorgie Road. Broomhouse path is a right b***** for getting caught-up on as the waits are so long at the junctions.

Spotted a dapper looking ARobComp turning into East Crosscauseway this morning. Was that a flat cap you were wearing?

Spotted little Max on MMW this morning, being walked by Laid Back who was deputising for the real owner.

Then later on just by Harrison Park said hello to Councillor Burns who was biking into town.

Spotted lastnight a new bike chained to the lamp post on the north side of the Water of Leith Bridge on the Warriston Path as it meets the Greenacre Path. It advertises a bike repair service, wooden board in the frame triangle. Didn't get a pic as my phone is always buried in my bag.

Well lit recumbent possibly arellcat turning from NMW to MMW around 5 ish and then a bewhiskered[code] kaputnik on Gilmore place?

Thanks SRD. :) That was me on my way home via Laid Back Bikes. Hope my front lights weren't too 'beamy', as it's a fine line between not blinding pedestrians and other cyclists, and being just blinding enough to make car drivers see me.

Possibly Dave on the towpath at about 1745 by the outdoor gym in Hailes Park. Hard to tell (it being dark) but it was a dynamo front light mounted on the fork of a drop-barred bike and a Dave-like silhouette.

If it was you, Dave, and you remember passing me there, do you happen to remember if my light was acceptable? I've nudged the beam up a bit to throw the light further, and I'm worried it might dazzle people. I'm pretty sure it doesn't because I can't see any illuminated faces, but it would be good to be sure.

This is why Does My Lumen Look Big In This exists as an as-yet-unrealised idea.
