Shortly afterwards, a wingpig-like apparition appeared briefly before Morningsider at the top of Leamington Walk.

Forumer wingpig? at Lawnmarket / George IV bridge. If that's the case he is everywhere it seems...

They don't have to seek him here, or seek him there, that wingpig, he gets everywhere. ;O) (except Lawn Market & G4B)

chdot crossing the road near Mellis's in Morningside this morning. He was on foot. I was too far away to say hello.

I don't know if he noticed the bike that passed in front of him heading in to town as he waited to cross.

My assessment from a brief sighting was glossy black, hybrid-style with those loopy foam-covered bars that long-distance cyclists sometimes use (don't know the official name), dynamo front hub, silvery internally-geared rear hub that might have been a Rohloff, belt drive. Just the kind of thing I'd buy if I was ever to have the option to get n+1.

Fimm, I think? Half way up a hill east of Broughton on the 'scenic' quiet route to Peebles early this afternoon. I was adjusting my saddlebag and you asked if everything was okay, it was. You might not have recognised me. If it wasn't you apologies, and you have a doppelgänger in the Borders...

Lady on the Queen St train this evening with a nice matt black Spec' Dolce, if it was anyone on here then apologies if our buggy was a pain, the huuuge women with massed shopping bags were making it difficult to avoid being an obstruction! :-/

@crowriver I must have a doppelganger as the only cycling I did this weekend was on my Brompton to Princes St via Evans and the Bike Co-op!

@fimm, aye I thought the accent wasn't quite right. Well there's a female cyclist fimm-alike out there, with quite a snazzy road bike and a penchant for black lycra, probably haring up a steep hill as we speak.

Tandem on the A701 this afternoon around 3pm. I was a passenger in a car that had 2 bikes on the roof - one a mountain bike (justifiable) and one a road bike (not so much :P).

  11. kaputnik this morn briefly, though probably fair to say he spotted me more.

"...though probably fair to say he spotted me more"

That's why I didn't bag Smudge on Friday: he was in my field of view before I was in his but he performed the actual recognition/sspotting.

Not for the first time, spotted cyclist on NEPN around 17:10 with a yellow high vis vest on with something like "zero emissions vehicle, except after beans" on their back. Makes me chuckle.

Last night on Dundee Street, just at the lights for Ardmillan Terrace, I spotted Gembo heading west. The spot was facilitated by the squeal from his brakes.

I did that so you would see me.

Actually, despite professional assistance they are still squealing something awful on the front.

The rims are quite caved and I was hoping I would get through until spring before new purchase but the noise polis may stop me if I don't replace

@Gembo have you tried sanding down the brake blocks a bit?

@winpig, did you happen to notice the back light on my Brompton enough to offer an opinion as to its effectiveness? I'm happy with the front but it's hard to observe ones own rear, so to speak, as it were...

@Smude I didn't notice myself noticing it, but then there were lots of leaves and peds and twigs and things my attention deemed possibly of greater priority.

Sanding down, will try, might be crud, new blocks actually and squeaking since they went on

DG145 narrowly avoiding a head-on collision with a kamikaze squirrel this morning on the WoL path... very amusing!

Possible Smudge Bromptoning along the Dalry Road around 7:30am... Red hat, very bright front light, two very bright rear lights. Not certain if it was Smudge.

I was disguised as a pedestrian.

kaputnik and friend near Harlaw (not sure if it counts as a spot if you have an actual conversation, but what the heck).

Apart from Dave, think I also passed Allebong who was out doing a spot of cross country running on the Balerno railway path. Earlier in the day I saw a guy on a white and orange MTB at Marchmont with awesome old-school lace up clipless shoes in shocking fluo pink.

SRD, Kim and someone else whose forum name I have forgotten unlocking bikes outside Haymarket station. I wandered past in my own little world and then looked back and thought "Oh, that's SRD..."

@fmm it was Shuggiet but i forgot that totally and introduced you using his real name, which wasn't very helpful.

    Well, heard.

Large bang of exploding tube on Wester Coates this morning. I turned round to see a chap on the other side looking at his rear wheel, with a wee cloud of powder in the air. I didn't stop as I don't think there was much I could do other than offer sympathy.

Also saw someone refitting a wheel at the side of Wester Coates last night. They looked to be just about finished, so again I didn't stop.

    Anyone on here?

No doubt I will be punished by the fairies tonight for not stopping...
