someone similarly stranded on the A8 this morning: a road bike, but as he was going in on the road, he seemed stuck on the verge and I couldnt offer any help from the pavement/cycle path.

Wingpig on the NEPN again. Nice chap waited behind the pedestrian walking on his side of the path until I'd passed before over taking them. I waived....

Spotted a guy with Christmas lights wrapped around his Revolution frame (I think) on Dundas St the other morning. Curious if he's been seen elsewhere, or is even someone here?

I'm full of Le Lurgé too.

I felt a bit ropy yesterday morning, but trundled into t'office anyway, but en route it became apparent I was in no state to do anything but go back to bed but, by the time repeated attempts to cowboy up had failed, I was so close that it made more sense to raid the canteen for a hearty breakfast and wait for the canal to clear.

Cyclostaggered along it, then went to bed.

Went to the school job since Wednesdays are always tight for staff, but the morning's sleep hadn't worked its miracle, and before the kids even left their classes I was gently but firmly told I was going home, after one of my colleagues had to wake me up to ask how many sproglets I was to be wrangling.

Pushed the bike home, feeling pretty guilty for having let the side down and spoiling my three year run of zero sick days(the previous occasion being the fortnight off after that meddling burst appendix and that darn septacaemia), until I came across the following Spot: a silver/grey saloon car with the left side panned in, and a one meter wide hole in the wall at Myreside Road. Polis were interviewing three witnesses.

It was at that point that I realised that since I had completely failed to notice this minor carnage when I cycled past an hour previously I really was too impaired of faculty to be in charge of a few dozen precious little bundles of sociopathology.

    Off sick today.

Uberuce, maybe we breathed in the same lurgy. I was in Glasgow yesterday and became spectacularly unwell on the evening train home, and again at Waverley. Very unfair of Network Rail to put all the bike parking as far away from everything as possible—including the toilets which require a huge amount of walking to reach, and then don't accept 5p coins when you're desperately trying to get through the bloody turnstile. I had to walk my bike two-thirds of the way home because I was drained, and my brain had gone onto autopilot.

I managed half a day's work today and required infernal combustion to get there and back.

    On-topically: nothing spotted today.

    "On-topically: nothing spotted today."

"I had completely failed to notice this"

    Must be same virus...

Stay warm (and indoors) until cured.

I'd say something like "doesn't everyone?" were it not frequently apparent that not everyone does.

I muttered morning when I identified you.

The Urban Arrow was up near PY this afternoon. It's rather humongous up close!

I think someone beat me to the spot of the ghost bike outside the Museum of Scotland?
(Who is moving it, and why? Just curious.)

Had a good chat with a woman on the towpath at 0730 this morning as we both pushed our bikes westwards over the Slateford aqueduct. I think she had a Boardman. I commented on how a regular commuter had been blown into the water a few weeks ago, and she said that at least we were getting more exercise with this wind. We agreed that discretion was the better part of valour.

    Anyone here?

Spotted WC while he discussed ASZ's with an Urban tractor at junction of hope park terrace and the meadows.

We then rode together to toll cross. Nice to have a chat and he was very kind about my barren desert of a chain after riding in the wet all weekend and forgetting to gie it a lube up this morning. Sounded like I was being chased by mice.

Oh also spotted a car with guide dog stickers on the back! Not sure what they meant. They seemed to be a warning. Assuming it means "don't park too close we've got to get our guide dog in and out" rather than that there was a guide dog driving...

@Who is moving it, and why? Just curious

It's a ghost bike. It moves itself.

Actually, it has a busy social calendar these days so has to keep moving around the place.

    @fimm

Obviously it's not 'being moved' - it just appears...

SRD discovered it marking the way in to a parliamentary reception about strick(er) liability.

One of the organisers said "bike was very poignant and valuable reminder and will appear in lots of photos"

The next day it was seen within sight of the Sheriff Court.

Not a spotted in its truest definition but Mike let me know this morning that a cyclist colleague of his was knocked off his bike by a vehicle on Friday - no further information forthcoming other than 3 broken ribs and a dislocated shoulder so didn't want to post a 'cyclist down' thread.

Wishing them a full and speedy recovery.

Two foot-constables on Porty prom last night at 22:30. Evidently I went past them responsibly enough. Don't know if they were sticking to the prom or darting up lanes to check for garage-hacking miscreants.

    Two foot constables

Isn't there a height restriction on entering the police force any more?
