I think I spotted you too, wingpig. White headwear?
Reciprocal spot later on to our man in black, chdot.

In our work car park, for chdot:

I would not leave that there.

Underground, secure, warm, dry, security pod 50 yards away (with actually diligent security who once challenged me as I cut a lock off my bike that had jammed), decent space between the stands. Probably less likely to come a cropper there than in someone's shed or garage.
There are often some really really nice bikes in our parking.

Not a 'street' lock - and not a 'serious' way to lock a bike either!
Must trust your workplace.

"Must trust your workplace."
A few times I've forgotten my lock and not worried about it there. I know other people (including a guy who rides a looooovely fixed Mercian in Gulf Porsche blue and orange colour scheme) who don't lock their bikes at all down there.

Oh, oh, I was just about to mention this bike as an example! I've gazed at it enviously on several occasions. There's also a nice Pinarello, and a lovely Pashley and .....
In the interests of balance, I should also point out that it's not all bikep*rn -there are a number of clearly abandoned bikes that are covered in dust!
And I used to lock my bike up there, but don't bother anymore. It feels very secure. (Although at my previous employer some neds walked into the car park and damaged some cars, despite it being covered and "secure". The security guards didn't notice it, even though they were supposed to monitoring the CCTV 24 hours a day.

Not to mention a very nice bespoke Kaffenback :-)

I know the owner of the Pashley, and she is very very proud of it (and rightly so).

Spotted CHdot on high street on his phone. Stopped to chat but that pesky green man came on and had to go :-)

A stream of brightly light small cyclists on MMW followed by what must have been a Hase PIno (I couldn't see very well by this point). I shouted hello roibeard!
Posted 10 years ago # -
@SRD - too blinding? I've strapped a torch to the Pino, setting it to very dim, but it isn't a shaped lens.
Mhairi (stoker) was surprised that I identified you - purely because of the spikes and the greeting...

SRD on Leamington Terrace, who maybe knows why the polices were blocking off Viewforth.

"who maybe knows why the polices were blocking off Viewforth."
I expect they were looking for troublemakers...
Posted 10 years ago # -
Dang. You beat me to it.
I asked 'what had happened'. Police said 'nothing had happened' but there was a 'security alert': you can do the rest'. I took it to be a threat had been made.

kaputnik rolling onto Melville Drive. I was catching (I was busting a gut to do so, and kappers was clearly cruising) but he caught a green that threw me a red before I could get a chance to hail a greeting.

"In 2011 Boroughmuir’s exam results were the forth best state school results in Scotland"
Probably got better levels of English than the EEN then... ;)

wingpig again this morning! (me disguised as pedestrian)
Posted 10 years ago # -
Your disguise just needed a pair of ski goggles to complete that outdoor-clothing-store-display look. Chilly walking, was it?

I couldn't find a fleece to layer under my shell, so yes, was in the 'sledging' jacket. I wasn't too warm though.

Gembo in the office - dressed for an arctic expedition.
Posted 10 years ago # -
It was an arctic expedition but only as far as Swedish pub Hemma. I recommend booking their top floor, they give you the room, buffet, wine cheap but good.
In our work night out quiz, I felt we won after getting the following question correct
In total, how many presents are given out in the carol 12 days of Xmas.?
No one else got it. When this became apparent I chanted the acronym SEAL three times. Unless anyway else on here is a maths guru for the cooncil, that joke is for recumboris only.

Arrelcat recumbing up Morningside road as I pedalled downhill(!) Into the stiff breeze. Tailwind for going home though :-)

@gembo, very good! However disappointed nobody in your team new of guass's quick solution to this !

Gauss as in Gaussian Iteration?
Posted 10 years ago # -
Seen that as a question where the asker had decreed that all twelve pear trees were to be counted as well as their contents. They forgot to allow for the geese's production upping the number by a further unknown volume.
