I only spotted the red hat and Brompton as we were passing. Before that all I could see was "approaching cyclist". If a cyclist has decent lights that is the first thing that you see, and you don't/shouldn't need anything else IMHO.

I haven't seen Uberuce round here for a while. I hope he's OK...

Last time he went AWOL (right after he'd been ill) and I sent him him various queries, it turned out he'd just been spending too much time playing computer games and lost track of the real (ie virtual) world.

Agreed Fimm, there should be no real need for more than bright well adjusted lights (he says hoping his fit that bill and don't dazzle :-/ ) though I thought you might spot the height of the headlight (or lack of same!) at a distance and guess Brompton early ;-))

Spotted wingpig again this morning at MMW/argyle place/Melville drive but I was having a blether with someone who'd admired my fibre flare, and didn't manage to sing out.

I saw a man riding up Rodney Street with an umbrella this morning. :-)

Said hello to a lady riding a pretty fancy looking trek road bike and properly kitted out this morning at the junction of Hope Park Terrace and Melville drive, and received and warm hello back.... which was heartening, as disappointingly unusual (maybe I'm unlucky).

Many mountain bikes iin pentlands. Some riders thanking us for letting them pass, some just bombing it, one cyclocross guy, lots of people covered in mud, lots of path really churned up but lots of new path surfaces. Went from Harlaw to the cape law fort and grain store then up to loganlea and back to thriepmuir. Was good day for a stroll

Dutch recumbent Nazca tandem at Cramond - couple of new LB tandemers. They're planning a Canada sortie. Not tandemed before or done recumbent riding. Today was first unsupervised try out...

By pure co-incidence the bike is same colour as one we had as demo before last year. Also got another new demo at shop. Both were getting test ridden yesterday.
Did delivery run at 4pm yesterday with newbie stoker through Haymarket to Corstorphone. Went over tram tracks ok as has 26" Big Apples.

They did look like they were taking it carefully - I gave them the benefit of the doubt as Cramond was so busy! Certainly looks good fun - every time I see a
    'bent I fancy a shot.

SRD, patiently hanging back at the Leamington toucan for some pedestrians who looked like they were walking slowly and carefully looking down at their feet in case it was icy when it wasn't.

Dave came smashing past me this morning on a Brompton. Too busy to talk, well he might just have been concentrating when we were stuck in traffic at the water of leith visitor centre

Nelly east bound on the Broomhouse path about 1646, with a small peloton in tow. I was in disguise as generic pedestrian.

By chance, I did a forum search for 'Salsa' just now, and saw kaputnik's post from 2 years ago (#698) on this thread: "Salsa tourer in mustardy green between Morrison Street and Haymarket, white ortlieb city luggage, discs and flat bars" - pretty sure that was me (although the Fargo now has drop bars). Well before I joined, too... <belated wave/>

The roibeard peloton sans roibeard on NMW last night? Pretty sure it was them owing to very bright lights and an overheard 'turn to go to daddy's work'.

I was being a pedestrian, trying to collect an unrepaired bike :(

@SRD - yep, that's them, I spotted them myself as they approached me, because the middlest is using an old halogen Cateye I used to have, so its warm, yellow, light is quite distinctive in a sea of cold LEDs...

Whilst Ruth's rear light (the classic TL-LD1100) is pretty bright, the fronts are HL-EL450's or slightly older, all of which I'd consider them to be minimal, just "be seen" rather than "to see", lights. I clearly play too much in the traffic and not enough on the path network!

I'm going to claim a 'strava stalking spot' of mkns, near the newly refurbished playpark in East Craigs.

From various discussions on here, I worked out he lives near me and I think I have worked out who he is on Strava but I don't know what he looks like.

So on Wednesday morning when I saw what appeared to be a regular cyclist (competently handled commuter bike with good lights and a good jacket), I thought I would check out our Strava tracks to see if it was him. And the timings work.

    So, mkns - spotted??

I was piloting the tandem with 2 kids on board playing a noisy game of eye-spy that was 20yds behind you for a very short while.

Aye, that sounds like me, right enough. I'm told I look like Kevin Bacon (and one of my kids once pointed at a fetching picture of Johnny Depp and said "Daddy!", which was pretty awesome), hence my Strava picture is of him. I'm Kenny, and I'm on the CCE group on Strava. That probably narrows it down sufficiently :)

I did hear the pleasant chatter going on, and wondered whether we'd come across each other again a few hundred yards along the path as I take an alleged shortcut but got held up by various school children, but no dice. I shall keep my eyes and ears primed in the future - this is the first "spotted" anyone has done of me on here. \o/

I see you've worked my strava alias out too :)

I head down the hill to the underpass (to make echo noises...) so our paths will only cross for a short while, but that's my usual route and time so we may meet again.

Spotted my guys on the BBC Scotland News, illustrating the ASA story...

Looks like we can't avoid "activism", even when we're not really trying!

SRD, this morning, on South Meadow Walk - may have just been inspecting the planters blocking the path that South Team said they had moved but clearly haven't been.
