I give the "private sector" workers a cheery wave fromt he window as they all clear out the Gyle at 4PM sharp. :P

You are allowed windows now ?
I am outraged, I didnt sanction my tax dollars paying for that upgrade !

CCE member stevenshand with a nice set of understated bicycles.
Nice T shirts too.
(Wait 'til you see the back!)

I covet a shand and have given N+4 to son. If only they did bike to work I could get half a shand. Would that be a shandy?
The one in the picture looks lovely, I saw a chap go past my house on one that looked very classy (green).
Also built locally. Will now google.

SRD, pedestrianating the Gilmore/Bruntsfield mess. "Something something leaflets something"?
Posted 10 years ago # -
"Sorry, I was focussed on leafleting" - context being I didn't see wingpig because I was focussed on trying to catch a mum and daughter combo to leaflet them.

Ah. I wasn't going to shout and potentially distract you until you were safely across anyway.

My SO was riding the roseburn path yesterday and was telling me about this exciting bike she'd seen which was "like someone was lying down" and she saw him on the way in and on the way out and was really excited because for the first time she's recognising others on the path rather than them just being bright lights!
I suspect this might have been DaveC trying out his new recumbant?

Spotted @chdot making a swift right turn from North Castle Street onto Queen Street at lunchtime as I headed for my lunchtime jolt of caffeine. Too far away to hail though I did notice a resemblance to Malcolm Gladwell (though much taller). Must be the hair ;-)

Spotted Mr Kaputnik powering along the Broomhouse cycle expressway this morning, and avoiding three people peculiarly pushing shopping trolleys full of black binbags. I was in disguise as, completely uncharacteristically, a pedestrian.

I was running late after having a slow puncture last night which was down again this morning which was then "fixed" with a tube that had a tiny hole in it, which was then found to be the result of a gash in the tyre that required booting and filling to seem resilient enough for the few days until I can replace the tyre...
At first I thought they might be flitting, but on closer inspection the black bags appeared to be full of random plastic. Perhaps they were dilligently on their way to recyle it at Sighthill? Or had been cleaning up the verge?

Mr CHdot may need a haircut for PoP if he is looking like Malcolm Gladwell who IIRC has quite a wafty Afro type Barnet?

Wingpig at Craigleith, panyaqua also at Craigleith (but engineered as we cycle together, & acsimpson at the top of Dalmeny popping POP posters on poles
Posted 10 years ago # -
Someone (I know who) PoP postering poles on a main road at 'rush' hour.
Takes a certain amount of nerve.
Well done.

Some, or all, of DaveC's spots yesterday it would seem, as I turned off towards Sainsbury's.
@ chdot
"Someone (I know who) pestering Poles..."
I'm sure you could get done for that! Oh, postering poles, that's different! ;-)

@DaveC. It's just as well no bubble wrap was involved as any more popping in that sentence would be excessive.

Briefly followed a pink and white Tifosi along the Broomhouse path towards Stenhouse this afternoon around half 4-ish. Have spotted it before with the rider colour co-ordinated in her gear but she was plain clothes tonight. Reminds me of a pink and white wafer everytime I see it!

Gent (it's the only appropriate word) in a green top on a blue Pedersen on Woodburn Terrace this afternoon.
Posted 10 years ago # -
aye, he's a gent indeed.

Lovely day for a walk in the Pentlands and spotted:
- a chap on a nice red Mercian going up the hill (and back down!) at Bavelaw
- loads of mountain bikers, all of whom gave a "hello" as they passed
- mum, dad and two kids (on Islabikes) at Loganlea
Just a great day to be out and about away from the city. Everyone had a smile on their face.

Spotted dad' and child on Helios tandem at start of WoL path, followed on racer by the mum.
Spotted loads of mountain bikes and hybrids on the path today, as stickman says all happy people
Sun still shining on west kip as I look from my garden but my experience is when you are actually there at this time, the sunshine is above you. It is nice to walk and quiet but not as sunny as It looks out my window.

I hadn't noticed that. I was mainly concerned about the unfavourable position I had been left in when I got to the ASL and found a low-slung sportscar hiding infront of the car behing and taking it up the box and the ped crossing.

(Yesterday)
A sadly neglected bit of cycle safety infrastructure.
You can just see the curved white line directing bikes to cross at 90°.
