Chatted to uberuce, said hello to roibeard at forest road, he was busy stewarding, saw. Arellcat pushing a Brompton, chatted to dave laid back with his monstrous bike a deux, saw ruggtomcat, morningsider, Arobcomp, min with camera, nice Irish chap from currie on my commute with his wife and kids, social worker I know, I had orange specs on so probably in disguise?

Ah, diarmid, you looked twenty years younger in Lycra! Was wind fierce on the Lang Whang?

@gembo I thought that was you chatting to Kevin (nice Irish chap from Currie). Spotted you from my vantage point, but you knocked off early.

Others spotted in the distance: Dave C, Arellcat, chdot, Min, Arobcomp, ruggtomcat, threefromleith, Laidback, wingpig. Only briefly spoke to Roibeard, Kim, Uberuce and SRD.

Ah PS did not see you. Kevin Currie always chatty as he overtakes me on way home. Forgot also spied shuggiet who gave me all my leaflets in spy style handover on canal towpath sans kingfisher. Again my orange spec disguise worked there.

Did you see my pal's leather stap wine carrier on his crossbar, very what you might call, old school.

Small motorbike on WoL heading west from Newhaven Rd, then again going north along the unpaved bit opposite the Chancelot. Police aware.

Yep, I was marshalling, encouraging folk at the top of MMW/Forrest Road.

I spotted Min there, and this time just about managed to remember not to shout "Hi Min!" in polite company.

I don't think she caught my garbled "Hiiello Min!" across the crowd...

I saw many, many colleagues, so we had good awareness in at last one local employer!

I spotted you too but there was a big clump of cyclists in the way while I was waving. Blooming cyclists, always getting in the way. ;-)

I spotted quite a few more people than I actually managed to speak to, but also failed to spot a few as well, the crowd was too huge I think! If Laidback and his recumbent tandem vanishes into a crowd, that is a pretty good crowd.

Welcome back to the fray Uberuce!

If anyone 'spotted' me looking exhausted and non-smiley in the BBC coverage, that is because it was actually footage of our feeder ride arriving and I had three bikes in the trailer and someone else's toddler on board too.

definitely the hardest part of the ride.

    No washing machine though? ;-)

The BBC spotted Scoosh and I, the backs of our head are clearly visible (if you know we're there) at 1:21 as they zoom in on the speeches. I don't know what most people look like but assume Laidback was the only tandem recumbent there particularly when arriving with another complete with windshield.

I was chatting to her at the start as she'd been drawn in by some cyclechat jerseys but didn't know that was her moniker on here.

I didn't. Had I done so, I may have descended from my vantage point a bit sooner. ;-)

Somebody I recognised but whose name I couldn't remember, whizzing past Haymarket yesterday about 6pm. Greyish cycling cap.

Mnerm. Greyish normal cap, worn whilst cycling? Black T-shirt and long baggies? Orangey bike? Beard?

Yes, I think so. I nearly wrote "wingpig?" but then wasn't sure...

Indeed. Although I almost missed you as you were below eye level and on the road beside the path while I scanned lampposts for POP posters.
