I cycled home over the pentland hills last night - lengthening my commute from "2km through the meadows" to "30odd Km over the hills" It was lovely and I met a young man on an orange cross bike with the same bag as me who lives in currie and works in loanhead. He commutes that way most days! What a legend. I would love that commute! 10 miles of hills each way. No wonder he looked fit.

    Anyone on here?

had a cheery hello with SRD yesterday on MMW while I was embarrassingly carrying a large heavy bag over my shoulder with one hand - not advised at all - apologies for recklessness

@Arobcomp I once met a man cycling over the Pentlands in the pitch black and rain who cheerily informed me it was his daily commute. It was too dark to indulge in bike recognition.

There is a guy we see daily on the ride out of Edinburgh (as we head in). Last year he wore a sleaveless vest all summer, Now he's waering a skeleton skin suit!! Hillarious!

Was too busy being grumpy at the weather to Spot much else, apologies.

I've spotted a fiercely concentrating Morningsider there several times during my hiatus, as well as one or two fearless leader spots and one of a recumbent I would hazard of P38 ilk outside the chippie.

Recumbent trike heading for Haymarket down Dalry Road this morning - alanr? Hope the MASSIVE lorry carrying big road mending machine with Edinburgh City Council logo didn't squash them (or anyone else). (To be fair to the driver of said massive vehicle, they appeared to be taking good care.)

@Arellcat, I didn't see Uberuce, but he must have gone right past me too as I (in car) was directly behind you at the lights.
I also noticed another cyclist who filtered past me but stopped behind and to your left and stared at your Machine.

Also saw recumbent trike this morning at the end of Ashley Terrace, 07:30ish, female cyclist.

Ooh! I didn't spot you back but then Leith Street is a bit thrilling (to paraphrase Willie Rennie).

"Ooh! I didn't spot you back"

That's because I had just come this way

    when you whizzed past.

"but then Leith Street is a bit thrilling"

Indeed. Tried to get a pic of you tangling with the buses, but other vehicles (behind you) got in the way.

Recumbent trike and upright in full touring mode on the NCN at Brunstane. Riders consulting maps. Perhaps they were confused that the NCN appeared to cross a car park and then climb a set of steps.

Recumbent on NEPN at Drylaw heading town wards about 10.30.

Group cycle as part of John Muir Way events heading to Blackness; overtook them at Cramond - invited me to join but I didn't have a packed lunch.

Hand-powered cycle heading out of Kirkliston just after Craigie's - impressive.

Although no one was having as much fun as the girl on the tag-along going "wheeeeeeeee!" down Barnton Avenue towards the golf courses.

"Was POP only a week ago?"

It will live on in thousands of memories.

And with hundreds of people continuing to press for "more".

And ten thinking about having to organise #PoP2015!

Rutger from the towpath arriving in Balerno on the 44 bus. He may be heading down the WoL path, I don't know everyone but don't think he lives in balerno

Kaputnik leading a party down the WoL path. I am afraid I was rather presumptuous in my beard trimming advice given the wilderness that is my garden. In my defence I am concerned some of the longer curls might get trapped in the spokes. Good to see we were both on trend with the pale burgundy trousers.

I spotted Kaputnik too, also on the WoL path. I was heading to EBC but had decided to go via Balerno. 'Graham's Garden' is looking nice; the honey bees are busy and I saw some leafcutter bee notches out of the Hypericum leaves.

Thought I spotted gembo earlier on the road to Balerno but maybe not.

Missed you arellcat. I was out on sturmey archer three speed to get the shopping at Scotmid. The one that used to be a spesh crossroads, so is sit up. Had two yellow ortliebs and indeed two bags on the handlebars. Then was cutting grass then back down to Scotmid for the bevvy and went home via WoL path to check how wild garden looked, quite trim at top but wilder at bottom, same as kapps beard. So maybe but whereabouts did you spot kapps?
The wee memorial garden is looking good. I dug a very few spades when that was being made but they did run a very long hose from my garden to water it. The man who made it Big Brian used to emerge from the bottom of my garden and connect hose to my tap. Quite like something out of rider haggard. I have noticed that someone has come over my fence and nicked the brazier style dustbin with chimney lid. Balerno is a den of thieves.

Gembo, K wasn't very far along the path from the memorial garden. More Balerno than Currie I think.

Arellcat, if you went to the end of the path then you would have cycled past, I thought you meant you spotted me on the road. But if you meant you were on the road to Balerno when you spotted me, I would have been cutting the grass as when spotted kaputnik, I was resting between the two flat bits of lawn and the third bit that our pal the landscape gardener decide to make a volcano and chair for the kids out of earth/grass. When kids were younger the volcano had some interest for them but these mounds are tricky to cut. I was leaving the goal open in this spotting thread for Kaps to mention my jacket which was purchased in boden sale. A hacking jacket I would describe it. Too big for me now but a bit poseurish for grass cutting.

Kappers party must think he knows a lot of people, go out for one cycle and chat to the world

Spotted Roibeard piloting (?) a strange two-man bicycle-like contraption down Brougham Street as I popped into Cloisters to sample some of Top Out brewery's The Cone on kaputnik's recommendation yesterday afternoon. I *think* Roibeard's pal/hostage was enjoying the ride, although it may have been a grimace rather than a grin. ;o)

Also spotted a lot of cyclists out and going about their business in town. Fair made the heart sing, so it did.

My "hostage" had planned the day's route, in training for the Bethany Sportive in June.

75 miles, said he, but miscalculated by about 20...

So I suspect the ginace was about right!

We appeared to bring excitement to the high streets of a number of Fife towns!

The time I clocked you from my attic you were smiling.

Is a ginace the look on your face when it is Hendricks time?

Stickman, recumbent on NEPN was me. On way to a certain laidback bike shop to try shorter crnks to see if this would help a back / hip / knee which has resulted in no cycling since end of Nov. Apologies - I only know a few forum members to spot visualy. If I see Gembo in the office I would say hello - it is however not a 'spot' as such :-)
