Arellcat recumbenting on her P60, I think, as she was coming up to Lidl on Gorgie Road, going into town. It was nice to get a wave, thank you!

@559. I'm never quite sure if a spot from a bus counts. Your bike looked really interesting in its big bag. Without, of course, wishing to pry into your personal affairs, had you just got off a bus with it?

I've taken my Brompton on the bus, but I'd never have thought of taking a bag as big as yours.

Oh yes, and what do you do with the bag when you are riding the bike?

@Greenroofer, just got off Citylink bus, lots of space for any size of bike, folded or not, but citylink insist on the bike being covered, to "protect" other luggage, the bag is a basic nylon bag. Which I fold/roll up and take with me.

A very regal looking black step-through with a tan leather saddle and tan rear panniers, parked outside Diggers yesterday c.18:45. Didn't have my glasses on so couldn't read the writing on the frame but did spend the whole of the red-light duration admiring it. It really was a handsome bike.

On my way back past later on c.21:15, the one bike outside Diggers had transformed magically into four and another one parked against the lamppost across the road. Was there a covert CCE meet last night?

Man shepherding a gaggle of excited youngsters on bikes down Balgreen Road this morning.

Man on Raleigh 20 (or similar) with a young girl following behind on Wester Coates this morning.

Man on recumbent trike on Morrison St heading for Dalry Road this evening.

Not the same man on each occasion mind.

53 cyclists heading out of town as I rode from Ferrytoll to Cramond. I saw more but only counted the ones who I passed.

I spotted a sign at school bike day Guess how many miles CHdot's bike has done. Cost me 20p for a guess but the bike was a small ladies racer from the 1970s and turned out was the head teacher's old bike. They then made me cycle my tricross over the CHdot assault course, kit looking nicely creosoted

    Yes, HT's bike.

    Not 'my' assault course either.

    New one 'made in Fife'.

According to Strava's flyby utility, I can almost claim to have spotted DaveC at the Red Bridge on my way home this evening as I was saying cheerio to a work colleague who was heading northwards while I headed across the bridge to go down the ramp and along towards DMains. I may have slightly held you up as I slowed down to take the right hand turn.

A group of 15-20 kids on bikes on the NEPN tonight 8.45ish. Looks like they were having fun despite the rain.

"Looks like they were having fun despite the rain"

Kids on bikes generally do - as long as they can keep warm.

Yesterday I made Purple Helmet Lady (regular canal commuters will know her) laugh by pantomiming my opinion that she was late for work and should get a move on.

Emboldened by this I today greeted 2 Kool 4 Skool (regular canal commuters will know him) and was pleased when he responded in kind.

This made me realise that by not previously greeting him due to his appearance (black hoodie, goatee and shades or American football outfit and shades) it was in fact me who was being too cool for school.

Spotted acsimpson this morning at the foot of the path down from Burnshot Junction, as he was taking photos. I'm guessing it was of the leaves which have been washed across the path, just next to the weigh bridge off the A90, by Cramond Brig.

Indeed you did, and indeed I was. If you were a couple of seconds later it would be more obvious.

Do you know who was behind you? I see him most mornings.

Sadly my phone crashed and I lost the useful image of the mud pit at the bottom of the hill.

    Thats Campbell my cycle buddy.

The picture sadly does not do the path's awful state, justice.

That was a cropped version of the original which still doesn't show the worst parts.

I almost came a cropper while passing another rider 50 yards behind you when my rear started to slide out on a mud patch.
