There was quite a police presence out through the West of Edinburgh yesterday after 8pm though nothing immediately obvious as to why.

I was taking it easy last night as my pannier was full of tomato plants. That and wondering about whether I should move to the pedestrian side of the line to let you stay three abreast so didn't notice who you all were.

Skotl, was it you who I passed on the path from Dalmeny to South Queensferry?

Never Knowingly Legal Man, now with a beard, making his way from one footway to another across a ped crossing on Lothian Road.

Spotted and said hello this morning to non-CCEer Angelo, who was recumbinating towards the mini-roundabout at the top of Craiglockhart and expertly manoeuvering through the stationary traffic.

Maybe not a forum member (?), but a very elegantly dressed lady on a Dutch-style roadster overtook me on West Coates this morning like I was standing still, then disappeared up Magdala Crescent leaving me for dead... I'm claiming it was the electric assist system she had that did it, nothing to do with me being a wimp...

Odd towpath experience this lunchtime near Craiglockhart. I came across a bike lying across the path, tangled up with a woman who had clearly fallen off. I didn't see her fall. I came to a halt beside her and helped lift her bike off her so that she could stand up (and so I could get past...)

The odd bit? She had a male companion who was standing astride his bike just in front of her watching proceedings. He made no effort to dismount as I approached, and didn't make a move to help me or her.

He said 'she's just spent £400 on her bike and she can't ride it', but didn't seem concerned at all.

    Very strange.

After spotting Angelo this morning, this evening I spotted son-of-Angelo recumbinating down Comiston Road at an impressive speed.

No, I know Robert... This was a guy I've seen in PY but not spoken to before. He'll know as he had a hair cut over lunch time.

Waved to a Marmite-clad Gembo this evening as we passed on the western end of Fountainbridge. Good to see you on two wheels again.

Outside Morningside Library this afternoon a wonderful convoy unlocking their bikes from the stands. Man and woman each with a bike with a child seat on the back and one of those fixings that lets you attach a child's bike (Not a trailgator, more like a rack extension. Don't know the name). Each of these bore an Islabike, and each of these bore a small girl.

Chapeau for taking that convoy on Morningside Road on a Saturday!

The girl on the lead bike saw me pointing the convoy out to my son from the top deck of the 23 and kept a stern eye on us.

"Daddy, why is that man on the bus staring at us?"
"Because he's very impressed, my darling"

    Maybe a Followme?

I did consider one of those with a child seat to solve my double child transportation problem.

@DaveC you didn't "Ding!" (or "Thunk" is perhaps closer to the noise of the tram bell)

They lock the door to the drivers compartment which is probably wise considering how many little people on the tram were trying to get inside to start pressing all the buttons. :0)

With reasonable certainty, I claim a spot of jdanielp chatting to John aka The Man with the Intense Eyes on the canal towpath at Kingsnowe station.

@jdanielp - if that was you, that was me that wished both of you a good morning.

I know the guy of the "two bags" photo. He's not on these parts, but I claim a spot. He has a very nice collection of beautifully restored antinque 50s/60s road bikes. I had to show him how to install and index STIs as previously he'd never done anything more modern than a friction-shift on the downtube.

    Spooky!!!

    "He's not on these parts"

Indeed - spotted in Hoxton (that figures!)
