I spotted Wingpig and junior lastnight but I don't think we were riding with Zenfrost. I have met her and it wasn't her. She does frequent this forum but not often (enough ;O)

I was spotted by nice chap tonight who moved the rack he was carrying on his back over to stop it thwacking me. As towpath maybe Greenroofer?

I spotted AlanR heading out along Slateford Road this evening; I was amongst the traffic waiting to turn right into Shandon Place.

@gembo not I. On towpath tonight, but not with a rack on my back.

My spotted for the day was a group of teenagers having a barbecue by the canal by Hailesland Road this evening. Their barbecue was on the towpath, and they were sitting around it. Shared space is one thing, but they were taking it a bit far....

    @gembo, @greenroofer

The rack carrier was me. The rack had spent the last week under greenroofer's desk after I had to unbolt it from the bike due to its having been locked to the Sheffield rack by a careless/passive aggressive colleague.

I went off on my hols leaving a polite note to the person, asking him to give it to greenroofer for safe keeping. S/he abandoned it on the carpark floor instead.

I later forgot the rack was there and thwacked a small coach whilst filtering. We all make mistakes I guess.

Was reminded about this lat night by one of the marshals but had youngest in tow and she was hell bent on acquiring mentoes for her play piece.

Must have been a lovely night.

Big chinese whisper about green algae doing the rounds earlier in the week proved to be bunk

Apologies to the man with the beard at the Salisbury Road ASL who mistook me for someone less socially inept.

Dave lastnight on the way home west on the NEPN. I heard a racer type approaching from behind. Istayed at my sedate pace and saw him out of the corner of my eye sideling up along side me with a cheesy grin complete with head cam and yellow Planet X top on.

We had a funny conversation about short slieved cycle tops. I only own 3 short slieved cycle tops as its mostly long slieve weather in Scotland, and as Dave was wearing the same shirt as Wednesday I commented that he must be stinky* :O) which led to the lack of short slieve top in Scotland problem. Turns out he only owns 3 short slieve tops too.

    * I am in the same clothing also.. ;O)

HankChief is, as I type, loading his automobile in front of my office. Four bicycles, a canoe, a tandem, Mrs HankChief and at least two HankChieflets.

    Respect.

"Sounds like the makings of a good weekend."

I once made the same remark in respect of the emergency kit at a laboratory I worked at, which comprised a stout pair of rubber gloves, a length of rope and an axe.

The lady I was talking to avoided me thereafter. Sense of humour failure or what?

Not really a spot yesterday evening, more an extended intersection of commutes through the Grange, with our man in black on his Burrows 8 Freight.

This morning, based on photos from the Evening at the Proms, I'm sure I spotted Zenfrozt on Brompton on Redford Road. Then spotted AlanR recumbinating across the junction at the top of Gillespie Road. I was in disguise today.

Major shake hands (see boys from the black stuff) with IWRATS tonight on aqueduct following earlier spot on towpath this morning so I knew to look out for azurri blue top on way home , but no rack in his back pack.

Spotted yesterday afternoon parked on Morningside Drive, a woman with a very splendid cargo bike (possibly an Urban Arrow?). She seemed to be trying (and succeeding) to put two kids and their bikes into her front box.

If it was you, I was the chap who passed by pushing a bike and accompanied by two children.

I also waved at Morningsider on that walk, but that happens so often that it's not really worth reporting...

Was anyone on here the pilot of the bakfiets at Bruntsfield Links this afternoon? I was one of the attendees.

Hmm second person to say they thpught they saw Zenfrost on the Porty Prom ride. I spoke with har at length but when I asked if she was a cce member, she replied that she is but doesn't post often. Now I've met Zenfrost on two separate occasions and didn't think it was her on Thursday. ... ???

I'm almost sure I saw the same cyclist as on Thursday, turning right onto Dalry Road just before the big junction & going up the hill. Top with a Scotland flag, & either a head-cam or a helmet light. I was on the Brompton this time.

Also spotted lots of cyclists going through Harrison Park twice - something EdFoC related?

Spot at Solstice Tri accidentally confirmed as Dave by Boyfriend, who remarked that Pentland Tri (one of the clubs he coaches) has a new-ish member whose husband did Paris-Brest-Paris on a recumbent... Ah, said I, I sort of know him...

Gent on a Pashley Guvnor this afternoon. He was wearing fawn chinos (perhaps I should say 'slacks') and a blue shirt. His rather nice 1930s style was a bit spoilt by his very modern helmet and much more spoilt by the fact that I saw him at Hermiston Gait Retail Park, which is about as far from 1930s nostalgic soft-focus heaven as it's possible to be.

Bit later on saw a family(?) group of two adults and three youngish children negotiating Tollcross junction northbound with some aplomb.

That reminds me of a Spot I forgot to post. Chap on a Pashley Roadster, filtering like an alleycatting fixie messenger through the absurd Comiston Road noon Friday snarl.

I was so distracted by his 'Jesus! Don't do that, you've got about an inch of error there!' moves that I failed to notice Rachel and Kirsten walking right past me until they poked me on the shoulder.

A gentlemanly salute to Gembo just after I came onto the canal towpath this morning, followed, three turns of the cranks later, by me snapping my chain.

I knew the chain was knackered - it's done two and a half thousand miles and only changes gears two at a time at the rear. Ordered a new one and a chain gauge last night. Oh the irony.

Once repaired, I spotted jdanielp (probably) talking to John With the Intense Eyes (who I greeted) and got a nice 'Hi!' from Purple Helmet Lady, saving the morning from total ignominy.
