I had a fairly free run home last night and aqueduct was empty. Left office about .5.30 so late for many on a Friday?

Edinburgh itself was awashith stag parties. Many dressed as roman centurions and Gauls.

Let false pixelmix take the lights unimpeded in the morning at the start of our commute and he was speedier than he was in June rain, unless there are two blue Croix de fer riders in addition to the real pixelmix

Was also on tow path in the morning at a time inbetween my early and late times and saw absolutely no one I recognised

Red Arrows flying over the Meldons.

A couple of signposts to the wonderfully named Quothquan

I watched the Red Arrows take off from Edinburgh Airport this morning, and half an hour ago watched the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight's Lancaster bomber flying over the bings, en route to Lincoln, accompanied by a Spitfire and Hurricane.

Somehow this conjures images of Yul Bynner wearing a black stetson, relentlessly pursuing his unfortunate target through numerous historical eras awash with mayhem.

I was going to give them the Nice One Centurion line from Eric idle but they looked too glum.

Nice Westworld reminder tho. Best thing Michael Crichton ever did.

We got the Red Arrows pinging over the flat yesterday... Preceded by the SO saying "Is that a truck"

    @uberuce

"Surely that would be a IWRATS/IWWATS pair?"

I like it. May I humbly submit that your antiparticle might be the unteruce? @Greenroofer's is obviously the Magentafloorer.

In other news - Purple Helmet Lady's helmet is confirmed as lilac.

Is that confirmation based on your own observations IWRATS or did you engage her in conversation? Lilac Helmet Lady is perhaps a better name in any case...

Lilac Helmet Lady it is. The colour is my observation - I wouldn't dare to engage her in chat as I'm too British. We exchange a 'good morning' now, but anything more would involve African levels of politeness and humanity.

Said hi to wingpig at Haymarket Yards this evening. I was on my way to Rose Street, but arrived at Tiso ten minutes late because I was too busy photographing George St.

Putting together some clues from her postings today I *may* have spotted Arellcat heading into Roseburn Park around 5.30 tonight. I don't know what she looks like, but my Sherlockian deductions were triggered by today's posts:

    - cyclist on a distinctively coloured (in a complimentary way!) Brompton, possibly the one pictured in the "MMW danger" thread
    - the above spot of Wingpig puts her in around about the right location at the right time
    - she's mentioned being in this kind of area in Kaputnik's post looking for directions

If it wasn't Arellcat then my sleuthing skills aren't up to much.

Gadget-enhanced cyclist this morning. In addition to the helmet-mounted GoPro, when he pulled away from the lights I saw he had one of those LED displays that shows the speed (I think it's been mentioned here before).

To be honest I found it a bit distracting. It took me a few seconds to figure out what the numbers were as they counted up from 0 and then I kept looking over at it to check out the speed, so I probably wasn't concentrating on the road as much as I should have been. May just have been my issue though.

Impressive turn of speed from the chap anyway - he left me far behind.

"My" Lilac Helmet Lady, both this morning and Tuesday morning, coming down Lanark Road. Beige, step through bike, beige trousers, brown cardigan, coloured bag in rear basket, eponymous headwear.

Does this sound like the woman seen on the canal later on? I see her about 7:15.

Does she know she is being stalked by randoms on an internet forum?

    Electric assist?

That chap with the speed LED thing and the helmet cam is the creator of the device. He's also I think the guy behind the "man eating cereal" prosecution on Melville drive.

He doesn't use electric assist but I think he does commute from somewhere up next to the pentlands so imagine he's pretty fit!

There are two Lilac Helmet Ladies being stalked by cyber-crazies I fear. Canal-based LHL spotted heading townward at 09h00 at bridge eight. Over-sized square fashion sun-specs and a red top I think.

I love the word 'eponymous' and use it when I can. I wish I'd thought of using it here.

I spotted Uberuce on his Dolan trackbike last night coming off the Broomhouse - Balgreen path at the Jenners Suppository. He was very visible in that lurid fluo-lime green top of his.

does that make Uberuce LFL? (as in LHL)

btw, Mr SRD has a new, very distinctive jersey.

jar of marmalade to the first person to spot and identify!

    "stalked by bicycle-mounted cyber-crazies"

Might be worth going back to (trying to) spot 'each other'

    (and random things.)

Sorry, my fault. I was just wondering if the LHL I saw was the same LHL as the canal using LHL.

To return to topic - I saw something like a Bakfiets in Harrison Park on Tuesday.

I spotted 7 other cyclists in the ASL at the big Tollcross junction. Not my usual route.

The Red Arrows, in formation, smoke trails and all, doing a flyover of my allotment, mid-morning today (c. 11am). Didn;t realise our wee allotments were so important!

Oh wait, you say Brenda was over the water in the Kingdom for some flying car park bash? Ah, that explains it.

Half six last night, headed West over the aqueduct, a hybrid upright/recumbent tandem. Bound to be someone on here?

No offence, but I still can't get over the impression that those things are some sort of invalid carriage.
