Mr SRD and little'un in tow going up and down a few times

I've not yet seen the tag-along but they both think it is fantastic and would strongly recommend it.

Last outing for the bike I fear - not sure what is wrong, but could hardly make it move (possibly because I am out of shape!).

    Considerate van driver much appreciated!

An immaculately-attired gentleman this morning cycling down Leith Walk. Tweed coat, burgundy cords, leather shoes and a wicker basket containing a leather satchel.

A touch of class. Not sure if a poster on here.

I was thinking about this thread this morning when i was given a slightly longer look than is normal from a fellow pedaller. I was thinking maybe its some one on here who halfed recognized me/my bike, which led me on to a signal.

Whilst carrying the qr code in ones wallet is perfectly acceptable for flashing Taggartesqu its not really handy while steaming down the main road. We need to take a page from the Masons, a signal of some kind. Obviously getting off the bike to grab the ankles of the person you are greeting, as is the custom of some secret societies, its not particularity convenient while said ankle is spinning at 90 rpm.

    Suggestions?

I think I may have spotted maninaskirt going along the west end on Wed night, or it may have just been a man in a skirt. And was that Kaputnik that overtook me this morning at roseburn, or it may have just been someone with yellow mudguards...

"An immaculately-attired gentleman this morning cycling down Leith Walk. Tweed coat, burgundy cords, leather shoes and a wicker basket containing a leather satchel."

    A future Anth?

Or possible the ghost of Sherlock Holmes coming from Picardy Place.

    Photographic evidence required!

one could make a "C" and then an "E" shape with ones fingers? Might be mis-interpreted as flipping someone off though!*

    * EDIT - also completely impractical for my lobster gloves

"or it may have just been someone with yellow mudguards"

I'm sure K wouldn't be happy to think that anyone else shares his passion for yellow.

(Or maybe he hopes that everyone converts??)

@Min Cool. I've not been spotted before. Embarrassingly it had to be when I was concentrating too hard on coping with the single gear I'm stuck in until I get a new rear shifter cable to be looking around sufficiently to spot being spotted or spot back. Where from?

miggy_magic's immaculately-attired gentleman must have been sweating his elegantly-tweedily-be-panted underparts off on such a warm and muggy morning, even if he was only rolling downhill.

If you had the orange wind/waterproof on, then yes it was me, running a bit late but enjoying the fact it was nearly daylight.

Apologies, didn't recognise you from behind!

I'm sure K wouldn't be happy to think that anyone else shares his passion for yellow.

I'd half to find a new colour! I imported them from the US so I was kind of hoping I had the only pair in town :)

@wingpig - actually, on the exterior he was calmness personified. He was even whistling AND going at a fair old lick too. I was struggling to keep up! The guy's a phenomenon.

I was coming from St Mary's Street. Was on feet rather than wheels so difficult to spot back.

    Hi Stepdoh,

No it wasn't me - but I did wear one on Tuesday this week and again the previous Tuesday (I started back on the 4th Jan - Wah!). From Palmerston Place to Ravelston Dykes. But I had on thick tights against the cold (of course - not for any other reason you understand!) as well.

So just a man in a skirt then. Jeez your're becoming as common as yellow mudguards :).

That was me in the orange kag in a bag (Gap 2001 issue) tried to keep up for a wee while... then just didn't :)

You think so? I hope so - it would give me some company! Most fashion designers have manskirts in their collections for this year - just have to see if retailers take it up.

I have seen one student with a dark green kilt-like skirt (wasn't tartan) at Tesco, Colinton Mains in the summer and one with a black pleated skirt around 1 year ago. Nothing much since. (That is apart from "kilties" of course).

Spotted, (fortunately) a student type girl pedalling up the inside of my vehicle and trailer as I stopped at the lights near the fire station museum this morning :-(
In her favour at the next set of lights she stopped at the back of the towing vehicle at least!

Recumbent trike at the corner of Slateford Road/Ardmillan terrace. Also saw a woman with a ginormous kid trailer plus another wean on a crossbar seat in the Meadows. Plus someone who might have been Laidback on an upright but I was still confused by it not being him on the trike...

when he's on his "regular" bike he should be known as "satup"

Was back on the Fuego today so not me.

Felt so good... just did quick journey to Morningside and back (Kojaks are so nice) . Could have stayed out longer but had to get back to breaking pixels at the Macface.

Spotted! chdot on the WoL path. He was being rather obvious as who else takes pictures of the ice on the path? Beautiful mount, but I think he let me get on with my mud thrashing :)

'SPOTTED' this bike parked at Backbeat Records

If you are a Dawes Galaxy owner please look away now!

The chap has another. I had a shot and found it trickier than a recumbent. Coaster brake.

    He's sending a link.

"don't know if i can ever trust that solid purple line again..."

Purple line (Spokes map) doesn't signify North Edinburgh style tarmac - perhaps it should, but that's a different matter.

Canal to Balerno (and especially Canal to Colinton) is one of the best places to visit in Edinburgh.

It will be interesting to see how much difference the forthcoming improvements make.

It's vital to visit several times a year and observe the change in the trees etc.

At this time of year with no leaves on the trees it's easier to see more of the river and things like the fabulous Redhall weir.

@Chdot, "Canal to Balerno" so where's that then? Sounds nice, might be flatter than the old railway.... ;-) :-p
