I stopped to drop some parcels into Scotmid this morning so I was probably running late.

I was certainly late after chatting to Beano for a while. He had his tyre back on the rim by the time I left and was just about to start pumping having checked for a trapped tube.

Hopefully it will be the last time the P*Fairies visit you this winter.

    @baldcyclist & @acsimpson & others!

What a friendly lot...many stopped to ask if I had everything I needed. The answer was yes, apart from experience! (@baldcyclist - I was fine, need the experience of puncture fixing (although not too much experience) so wanted to bash on with it myself)

first roadside puncture so took me a while to sort it - going to go and check the bike after my sandwiches and make sure still inflated.

Don't know where i'm going wrong haha circa 2000 miles on Gatorskin's, one P. few hundred on the marathon+ and think I've had 3 P's now :-(

Serious roadie looking fellow steaming through Roslin who turned out to be CCE's very own ARobComp.

Had a wee chat with Angelo of Canada riding fame at Morningside clock. He is a fine gentleman.

Aside from a fellow Rondeur (who I dont think is a CCE-er), I saw a hand powered recumbent heading from Kirkliston to Cramond around 2pm.

EasyCycle outing at Roseburn this morning. Around 12 of them.

    EasyCycle Bonus Ride

An extra ride to mark the winter solstice. This will be an informal ride of 12 - 15 miles, and will be taken at a gentle pace with plenty of stops. EasyCycle rides are especially suitable for less experienced riders and those who haven't cycled for a while.

So what East Coast are saying is First Class passengers would never need to use cycle carrage as theur chuffeur would be dropping them off at the station? ;0)

I think the bit about 1st has nothing to do with bikes.

There is also a sign where the other end of EC trains stop as well.

It just shows where to wait IF that end has the guards van.

I think that the electric 225s have the bike bit at the front and the 125s at the back.

Normally 1st class is at the KGX end. Sometimes the 'sets' get turned round due to engineering work or 'other'.

(By chance) a Deltic on the South Sub (apparently been at Bo'ness for the weekend).

East Coast Trains will then be carrying out Tyre Turning, this has become necessary due to a minor flat on one tyre and also the flanges are nearing their minimum operational thickness. It is the first time that 55 022 has had its tyres turned for well over 10 years,

Spotted just one fellow cyclist on my 20Km commute this morning. The normally busy A90 path has been deserted for the last two days.

Spotted gleaming steel fixed gear locked outside Leith Walk Cycles yesterday afternoon. Came back half an hour later to find a sticker-bombed bike next to the cash machine too. Makes a change from the usual battered Treks!
