Ah! Do you have a row of little lights on your handlebars, Gembo? I remember saying hello (in a "hello fellow cyclist" fashion) to someone. I obviously didn't realise that was you!

@fimm, yes row of lights, two little and one big one dipped to the left so as not to blind people so may well appear little, so I will replace it with a little one when the recharge on the battery eventually gives up

In Linlithgow at lunchtime (in the car, I'm afraid) and spotted a gent in full roadie gear on a splendid Longstaff-style trike with red tyres.

It looked just the thing for wet tramlines, although I'm not sure comfortable it would have been on the knobbly cobbles in the middle of Linlithgow.

Oh yes, and in other news we saw yesterday on Morningside Drive the green Brompton I spotted last week. As I'd surmised then, it does indeed belong to a chap with a matching green helmet.

Wingpig hiding under a beanie hat (but otherwise just in regulation shorts and T-shirt) waiting to turn into Haymarket Yards yesterday evening about 6PMish.

A black, white and orange Cotic-X on York Place this morning that looked awful like Wilimingtron's Cow's black, white and orange Cotic-X and indeed turned out to be that very bike.

Greenroofer, your Brompton-toting gentleman is likely to be Angelo the recumbinating-across-Canada guy.

Several shiny new bikes in the work racks. Cycle2Work vouchers were delivered last week.

Well-rear-lit recumbent trike hoofing it past me along Dalry Road. Thought it might be Alanr, but I think he goes up the hill onto the Slateford Road and this person stayed on the Gorgie Road.

Spotted Algo and progeny being left hooked (without contact) by a white van man this morning.

Unliveried, so the offender got away with it, for even with witnesses and video evidence, who but his employer would be interested?

Passed a 'bent rider, who I suspect frequents here, at the start of Slateford Road in traffic (while I tried to thread a way through to the bus lane around the stationary traffic in the outside lane). Our exchange of pleasantries was marred by the noise of traffic as I chatted over my shoulder, so apologies if I came across as rude - I was aware that it was difficult to make myself clearly heard, so was keeping my comments brief!

I probably confused the said 'bent rider by reappearing behind him at the lights at Gorgie Road/Dalry Road, as I had picked up a p******* on Stewart Terrace, and had to stop for a minute to let it re-seal itself.

@Roibeard - thanks for the spot. I think I just had time to say good morning. I knew it was coming when I heard the engine noise from behind so was on the brakes pretty early making it probably seem pretty innocuous to all except the trained and keen-eyed such as yourself, but I did appreciate the tacit acknowledgement on your part as we passed.

Kudos to the guy I see regularly around St Marks Park on the NEPN around 3pm'ish,bike with trailer, trailer laden with small bike and rider guiding a slightly larger bike to his right hand side.
Assume he's portaging the bikes to school pick up so the little 'uns can commute home in the best way possible.

Was weefoldingbike wearing a sky blue beanie hat yesterday? I've no idea what (s)he looks like, but a guy gave me a masonic wink as he forced the words 'wee folding bike' into a conversation yesterday.

    CCE secret sign?

The Weezeettes have taken to hailing any rider in flouro jackets as "Daddy!". It's turned into a bit of a game. Normally it elicits wry smiles. Do join in if they spot you.

BTW @iwrats, that was me/Mr me last week on Glenallan Dr - part of our childcare route. We're currently conspicuous by our crunchy winter tyre sound effects.

Master acsimpson shouts out any bikes which pass us with a supper loud Da! Even if I'm with him at the time.

I think Dad and bike must be interchangable.

SRD + friends and family with bikes laid down in the snow patch on Bruntsfield Links yesterday pm. Looked like organised fun.

Got hailed as I went by on my 3 speed, galvanised, all weather machine.

You're actually conspicuous by cheerfully piloting an electric cargo bike....not too many of them in the Inch.

@IwratS - the Inch is practically the Christiania of Edinburgh!

A minimum of Urban Arrow, Bullitt, Xtracycle, Carry Freedom trailer and a (visiting) 8Freight.

Have you considered getting a cargo trike to join in the fun?

Someone of your height - was not that close but looked like you and seemed to know me. But then you would/should have been working. Strange. Maybe was a Sciennes cycle group.
I did see you the other day though cycling in other direction on MMW!

Between you and our mutual acquaintance Mr H there is indeed quite a herd of pure breed bicycles. Interesting also how you can quite clearly read my mind...was severely tempted by the cargo trike that was in the Bike Station a few years back....but it went to a good home in the end.

JGPS bike club is after school on Thursdays. One of their groups might have been on the Links?

Spotted (and stopped to offer assistance to) a scots chap in Silverknowes this morning, while he was on his black Cotic Roadrat and I on my orange Cotic X. I've spotted this chap lots but as he rides out of town on a morning, we have never stopped at the same spot to say hi.

Hi! if you are on here.

Man in hi-vis on a recumbent trike crossing Whitehouse Loan at the Leamington Walk crossing as I Bromptoned up to Edinburgh Bicycle Co-op. Later, as I headed back down Leven Street, the same cyclist (or a very similar-looking one!) appeared at the exit of Tarvit Street.

Spotted an enormous Bakfiets two-wheeler with almost as enormous cargo, proceeding west at a sedate pace along the George St cycle lane at lunchtime while I proceeded east at an equally sedate pace. Turned out to be Laid Back!

Spotted a fetching, smallish blue road bike from a maker whose name slipped my mind, locked up on the West side of Hanover St, between Princes and George today around 3 p.m.--it was a name with first and last starting with the same letter, I think. Something like Bill Blascom or Sam S something... Anyone know? I meant to look up the builder.

Helios (I think) at the east end of Roseburn Park this evening around 5.30. Lady pilot, child stoker.

    Anyone here?
