    ...two walkers, one with dog, on the whole of NEPN from Haymarket to McDonald Road (10.30PM). Was glorious.

    Spotted a well-used urban/touring bike on the train this morning. Had a nice chat with its owner, who turned out to be Ellie Mills who runs the 'Little Blue Bike' cargo/courier service in Edinburgh.

  3. chdot yesterday on Forrest Road. Was good to have a brief catch-up. I then chained to a post next to a slightly rusty Moulton with a carbon seatpost.

    My bike in the photo bbc using on their edinburgh news site story about Union lobbying council. I think the media should get the owners Or the bikes permissions before using their images.

    Council could save money by replacing that guard with CCTV.

    I thought staff were explicitly forbidden from using that rack!

    "On-road cycle parking!"

    Seems to be missing three Sheffield Stands. That blank tarmac will surely be viewed as a parking space without them.

    @cb

    There's one outside my flat too, and yes I've already seen a near miss between a parking car and a stand. It's only a matter of time before someone's pride and joy becomes an ex-bike, gone to join the peloton invisible.

    I'm always a bit nervous about the stands in the middle of Chambers Street for the same reason - a u-turning or parking driver could make a mess of a bike...

    Double Not-Quite-a-Spot from the same bike. Thought it was a Genesis CdF at first, therefore maybe making it Damien from my office, then on closer inspection saw it was a Van Nic, suggesting amir, albiet an amir offpiste. Rider was neither.

    My original dynohub was almost mistaken for Uberuce's new dynohub this morning, though mine has four fewer spoke-holes.

    IWRATS - yes that photo. My bike is not in the racks but on the railing.

    The guard has hardly moved in several years.

    Pair of cyclists on NEPN this evening, both with bright rear lights verging on the obnoxious. One of the two had lights on helmet, back/child seat, seat post and mudguard height. The ensemble appeared from a distance like a dinosaur with a red glowing tail

    Someone seemed to be spotting me walking down Broughton Street this evening? Sorry if I blanked you but I wasn't really paying attention.

    Not really a spot but something that Fairing Man might be spotted sporting in the near future? Expensive but might save some danger tape?

    Not really a spot but the other day my wife was talking to one of the eldest wingpiglet's infant-colleague's mothers who mentioned she'd seen a photo of someone who looked like the eldest wingpiglet on a bicycling website.

    Angelo of LaidBack's parish, then a chap cycling down King's Stables road taking a commendable primary for his daughter, who was on a fine looking vintage kid's road bike. Didn't know them, so the paternal relationship is a guess, but they struck me as very CCE.
