" just been to that pizza express dedicated to Muriel spark"
Apparantly on the night before it opened someone noticed that the massive writing high up on the wall read, "The Pride of Miss Jean Brodie".
Got it fixed in time though.
CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 15years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.
RULES No personal insults. No swearing.

The sin of hubris was indeed her downfall
Stickman's powers of deduction are flawless. I was cheekily allowed to skip the usual period of rest after donating because it would have had me running late.
It was the shirts and t-shirt in low single figure temperature that did it. I've read on this forum about your core temperature
Was spotted today with the children by a cheery Recombdna - good to have "delayed" drivers so happy to accommodate us!

Spotted Kappers this morning on haymarket terrace, and while in the process of spotting him, noticed from the look on his face that I was narrowly avoiding being squished by a right turning car coming across the stationary traffic (nothing in my lane). Something I would have noticed had I not been spotting him!
So be careful Spotters. Don't get so excited that you will have something to post about that you get squished by a volvo estate.
SO, best not to be spotted...
Yes it was with a look of horror I greeted ARobComp (didn't see it was him at this point) as a previously stationary Volvist suddenly turned through a small gap in a queue of cars at Haymarket which entirely blocked it's view of what might be approaching wind assisted in the bus lane. Nifty brake and rear-end skid recovery skills from ARobComp as he swerved out of the immediate danger.
"blocked it's view of what might be approaching wind assisted in the bus lane"
SO, best to be spotted then?
I'm confused. ;-)
Yeah your look of horror was what had alerted me to said volvo.
Still came out of it unscathed. Nice to spot you etc.
Spotted Roibeard this morning, Bromping into the wind at a respectable pace on Mayfield Road. I was in disguise as a hardened Dakar rider, and further in disguise by hiding law-abidingly behind the ASL on West Savile Terrace.
Some sort of front-box delivery tadpole-trike affair going along Bonnington Road. Something painted on the box which might have been a thistle. He must have gone up Macdonald Road or East Claremont Street as he was unloading some stuff outside Microsoft by the time I'd gone up Rodney Street and Broughton Street.
Back cycling to work for the first time in ages today, I was making my way gingerly along an icy Innocent when I was passed by a Wingpigalike so convincing that even when I came up alongside him at the crossing and looked into his face to check, I had to look twice.
Good job you checked before telling me I was going the wrong way.
Or getting in the huff at you sweeping past without saying hello!
Yes, the direction was a clue but he was a bit of a Twinpig.
I don't tend to spot many CCEers (apart from people I see too often to be worth mentioning here.)
Yesterday I actually spotted DaveC going down Scotland St.
I'm not often there at that time of day.
I passed a lady on a quite distinctive bike heading east through Roseburn Park this evening around 5.
It seemed to be a quite upright Dutch-style bike from a distance, but closer up it appeared a bit more hybrid and sporty. I couldn't quite figure out why it drew my attention, but it seemed very, I don't know, CCE-ish
A dark green sort-of-Dutch-style bike, Stickman? Might be one of these.
Yes, that's the very one!
Is it a bike you are familiar with? ;-)
Riding along the path towards West Pilton on Saturday, well-laden with groceries and picking my son up at a birthday party, a rider was ringing his bell behind me to hand over, both of us still rolling, a mango that had fallen out of my pannier. I was wondering who this friendly and capable rider was (to catch me after picking up the mango!) when he zoomed off on an unusual blue, I think electric bike with two panniers and maybe some kind of cargo setup. It was too swift for me to size up very well, but just to say--grand, friendly gesture on that hectic afternoon.
There's a blue electric assist Kona Ute with a friendly rider about. Sounds like it might be that.
Was on an epic to Bilston to pick up some new mudguards this evening and on the way back with said muydguard attached to my rucksack I spotted a warm looking Uberuce literally steaming (I assume) as the snow evaporated as it touched him (I was chilly and you were not wearing many clothes!)
Then spotted Arellcat in torpedo rumbing along balcarres street towards morningside.
Was a great day to be out on the bike actually!
Did someone shout at me from the top of Broughton Street as I went from York Place to Leith Walk this evening?
Instography, nursing a broken arm under his jacket, trudging through the slush on Charlotte Square and complaining bitterly about being relegated to public transport on a snow day.
