I had turned my camera off (I've stopped using it on the towpath) so we can't arrange a strange two-viewpoint video of each approaching the other...

Fellow yellow-Ortlieb cyclist lingering in the Sighthill screwfix this evening, ordering more "I need this" sort of toys. Anyone here?

Spotted Roibeard this morning on Dalkeith Road, going up the hill like a
speedingBullit, past Blacket Avenue. I was the passing biker who took a keen interest. :)Posted 9 years ago # -
going up the hill like a toiling Bullitt
FTFY
Only because the Brompton is in having its front wheel removed (seized to skewer - I suspect having gone two winters without a front puncture could prove very expensive!).
Then I discovered that colleagues had "helpfully" moved my training materials from Holyrood to my office at KB whilst I was on leave, so suddenly I was using the Bullitt in anger/for real!

Nothing what can't be put right with a big hammer.
Unfortunately the hub to which the skewer is seized is an example of precision German engineering, which might not take kindly to being hit with a hammer...
Consultations are ongoing!

And a homewardbound spot of Roibeard, this time powering through Summerhall past the Dick Vet.

An airport police officer (yellow flashing light on top of car - not on though) holding his machine gun next to a vehicle which had been stopped a car on the A8.
I didn't linger...

Tandem + tag-along with solo pilot heading west along St John's Road this morning. Going by location and previous descriptions then I think it was HankChief.
I was going to say hello but you were concentrating on getting past a car that had pulled some way out of a side street.

Funnily enough I was wondering if it was you.
Good to
meetcycle past you.Posted 9 years ago # -

@SRD I had a secondary spot of Mr.SRD at lunchtime on the Meadows by the Pavillion. I think I confused him by putting a hand up in acknowledgement :)

Father and daughter heading along St John's Road this evening. The girl looked about 8, the dad on a folder. Dad was shepherding her along safely.

A bunch of students that I spoke to before faceplanting (basically - but without hitting my face) in BRisto Square. I'm sure they thuoght In was super cool before I did so. Bloody knee but a surprisingly acrobatically solid fall (ended on my feet with bike some feet behind!)

Someone riding a Winther Cargoo trike towards the North Bridge/Princes St/Waterloo Pl/Leith St megajunction.
Edinburgh Cycle Company had an electric assist model at Greenfleet.

Somebody overtook me very slowly on the towpath as I was cycling into town yesterday evening. I turned around to try and ascertain why they were overtaking so slowly and was met with the word "snap!" - at this point I realised that the guy next to me was also riding a Charge Grater. I replied with a sound of recognition and a "nice bike!" as he pulled away from me, quite easily now, which made me feel somewhat inadequate given that he presumably had a similarly low top gear ratio (38T/20T and an Alfine 8).

A gradual lack of trees around Bristo Square this week as its development starts in earnest, which apparently requires nearly all of the old trees to be cut down?!?

Baldycyclist heading home over the bridge last night. I was camouflaged as a runner at the time though.
