LOADS of cyclists being very behaving on the Roseburn Path to Silverknowes this morning at 7am and again at around 8. I was off for some training intervals.

There was one dodgy chap who chose to overtake another ride coming towards me. Think he got my speed a bit wrong as I had to brake quite heavily. I wasn't wearing as much high vis as he was though so maybe he didn't see me.

    That works!

I believe quite a few bikes were also cut off the railings. They all looked like they had been there for a long time.

    Cheers

Spotted a sign attached to a bike attached to a tree on MMW. explaining to the owner that if it was not moved in 14 days it would then be moved for them.

    Tram?

    Anti-tram vandalism??

    Or did it say coaches?

In other sign-amendment news, the wee "20" repeaters along Ocean Drive were all binbagged a month or so ago. Keep forgetting to get a picture. Not that many people paid them any heed, but still.

Probably not 'tram' because ... well ... they don't get a choice which routes they take.

"they don't get a choice which routes they take"

Yeah, but perhaps that's what sign said and someone realised it didn't make sense(?)

First caught out ninja last night, clearly regular cyclist coming down Lanark Road last night with no lights attached.

Made me smile to see a lady pulling out onto Causewayside at the bottom of West Preston Street with street clothes, no helmet and a yappy dog in the front basket :)

  16. @steveo, saw two ninjas-to-be last night on Milton Road. Not quite yet 'dark', but very dusky, they'd obviously been on a training run, but within about 5 minutes it was definitely going to be 'dark'. The nights are fair drawin' in.... etc.

I got caught out on Monday morning early about 6:30-7 most cars had lights on. I could see clearly, but it was a wee reminder that I need to think about being seen...

acsimpson heading over the Forth Road Bridge last night about 4:45PM. Head down in a wee world of his own...missed my wave and missed the chance to see Sally (the new steed). Till next time...

@Nelly - Yes and yes, I truly felt like an HGV! The electric assist I eschewed seems awfully attractive when that laden...

spotted a billy can emerging from the water of the canal at the bridge in wester hailes that takes you up to where the Tesco store used to be. THe string was being pulled by someone on the bridge as I went under and when turned to check the chap who was in green cammo headed off up towards the tesco store (as was). Sincerely hope not boiling it for his tea

gembo this evening on his way home (I assume). Disguised in a red top, and I only recognised him when close enough to see the whites of his eyes (or, more specifically, the orange of his shades)

Hardly my most cunning disguise but rarely wear it as it is a little neat, 100 per cent merino that I have mistreated so the fabric has shrunk a little but the zip remains a very sturdy full length feature. I fear I was in the office yesterday with the zip down and my jacket unzipped. Not a good look. Also could not find my pass and was looking for form to get a new one when our marvellous administrator Sharon said, err, is that not your pass in your back pocket. My excuse apart from the dental surgery is the red jersey not worn often and the pocket configuration must prevent me feeling the pass whereas my other jerseys are less cushioned in that area?

Anyway, I liked greenroofer's Orange cap

@laidback +1 on a recumbent tandem heading towards Aberlady. Then @colin (I think) +1 on an upright tandem five minutes later.

We took the campervan to Cobleland near Aberfoyle last night. Opposite us was a family of three (2 adults & girl around 10) who were bike-packing, tents and all. The youngster was carrying a bit less on her nice Islabike than the oldies but she still had a fair load.

They left before us, but we passed them a bit later on grinding up NCN7 (the Old Gartmore Road) towards Drymen.

Top effort and they looked to be having a great time. Beautiful day for it.

@Beano, Sorry to miss Sally and you. The bridge always seems to be the point in my home journey where energy levels start to web so I'm often heads down, into wind, uphill there.

Still the weather looks better this week so I'll keep an eye out for Sally.

Purple, white and fluo-green nineties-style road bike on the verge of the Picardy Place roundabout with a snapped back wheel. Cyclist remonstrating (in a reasoned manner it must be said given the state of his bike) with a private hire driver who, by the sounds and looks of things, had switched lanes from outside to inside coming off the roundabout and gone into the back of him.

I stopped to offer moral support but it clearly wasn't needed and cyclist wasn't hurt or injured. He seemed to have the better of a very sheepish driver so I went on my way.
