On the towpath just now, two likely looking lads on bikes, one riding with a Black & Decker Workmate over one shoulder.

On the WOL path. Loads of cyclists. Unfortunately some were stopped near currie where a wee dog had clearly run our under the wheels of a MTB. Everyone looked very upset.

One person at Ocean Terminal yesterday and two people today heading towards the prom at Porty, all on Edinburgh style 'Boris Bikes'. These look like fun - stylish and sturdy (heavy? - no doubt), with a front rack crying out to be sat on. Have they been in use for a while and I've just not been paying attention?
Oh, and what should I be calling them? - I don't suppose 'Borisish Bikes' is going to go down well.

Ps apologies if this has been discussed at great length.

Both Amir and cyclingmollie on various parts of todays 60km loop.

Also Illegal Jacks has reopened on nicholson street (St Patricks Square opposite EBS) so I popped in there. A big burrito with guac is amazing recovery food!

Three people on laden touring bikes, standing on the grass beside the A8 looking very confused. I think the route under the road at the airport roundabout had thrown them.

Panyagua and DaveC at the Dalgety Bay Bike Festival - the latter looking resplendent in a PBP finisher's jersey. Fully zipped up, so no bibshort modelling, much to everyone's relief...

Possible spot of acsimpson this evening, just before 6pm I crested the little rise between the Dalmeny estate gate and Dalmeny village at the same time as a bareheaded red t-shirted rider- we greeted each other, but I wasn't 100% sure on the identification.

Solo Pino rider (who I understand is not-Roibeard, although I don't know what Roibeard looks like) on Baird Grove this evening.

Along Water of Leith path at Saughton playing fields. Boy of about four was doing wheelies on very snazzy looking trike with long diagonal forks which seemed to be designed to slither sideways and be more exciting than the usual upright trike. Boy was wheelieing side by side along the path so slowed down. Boy then started to race me while pretending not to. Beat him easily of course.

@paddyirish, yes that was me. At least the description fits me. I guess you don't have the child seat on at the moment which makes spotting you a little trickier when I have no idea what you look like.
I'll be an hour later tonight though so might miss you.

@eddie_h I'm sure that's the bike which had a note from the council advising it would be removed in the next 14 days.

Wilmingtron's Cow yesterday afternoon, honking up London road in a rather fetching purple jersey. He was either running late or after a Strava title.

I was hanging out a first floor window tidying up paint and putty off the glass.

@acsimpson- have decided to return home and take child seat off each morning. It saves time and energy over the course of the day. Also stops it getting wet on the very rare occasions that we get rain.

On a big (25" frame) blue hybrid. Will keep looking out and if I see you coming will try to shout in time.

That makes sense. It's a long way to carry it each day.

My helmetless state is sporadic in nature and generally decided on the basis of how warm the wind is when I leave the house in the morning.

@acsimpson - I will be harder to spot too as I pick up a new helmet today thanks to an Evans sale, an extra 10% off, and Tesco doubling up my vouchers I got a £100 helmet for £30 :-0

That'll have been the quick lunchtime spin home to fetch some documents off the computer (Dropbox for the win meaning I didn't need to carry the papers), and getting back to the office in the joyful situation of being pannierless.

(I went out late last night for one ascent of the Seat to see the post-Tattoo fireworks and clearly the penniered 'training' is working. Hill felt good, and despite not pushing 'too' hard because I was in a waterproof jacket and didn't want to get too warm, I got my third best time for the ascent on Strava, so the Strava-ing was later, and it's still slow compared to most on here...)

Spotted a lady Nihola triking up Morningside Road this evening. She spotted the torpedo and called out to her young passenger. Smiles all round. :-)

Two primary-age children cycling unaccompanied to school.

This really shouldn't be something worth noticing.

Reminded on the bad cycling thread (though not related I'm sure) @Gembo in roseburn as I was getting cash out to get some keys cut.

Also @IWRATS who I said hello to but he didn't recognise me due to darkness, loud rear hub and me being dressed in skin tight lycra.
