CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 15years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.
RULES No personal insults. No swearing.

Either I was early today or daisydaisy was late, because we passed at Morningside junction rather than further west.
A bit later on I stopped at a zebra crossing for a young gent on a red Frog bike with a very colourful helmet. It was only as he was crossing that I realised that it was the offspring of a regular CCE contributor.
A couple of Raleigh cars heading into down with bazillions of bikes on top. :-)
A man on a new-looking black LHT on Murieston Crescent this morning. First one I've seen out and about since I got mine. It confirmed that the greyish option was the correct choice for me.
spotted a tweet from Talkporty on twitter, looks like two Christiana trikes burnt out on the Restalrig Path?
Which bike was Brenda riding today? ;-)
the trikes appear to have been stolen from 'crops in pots' of Leith.

so stupid.
See also the rubbish cycling thread for the burnt out bikes.
Cycling out on the Mussy - Tranent Road yesterday, I was passed by many many cyclists including one I noticed in a CCE jersey. A recumbent with a laid back bikes passed me too.
I presume (like me) they were redstone Rigg bound. Hope you enjoyed the tour.
@Bikeability, the CCE jersey was probably worn by Earthowned...
Aha, yes that was me. The CCE jersey worked! However, I did have lots of people assume that I actually set up and ran the forum though...
"ots of people assume that I actually set up and ran the forum though..."
Happy for you to take the blame.
Please wear top every day - esp on G. St & LW.
@earthowned
is your surname made up of the following letters
e, a,r,w,n,d
If you are the same person who helped me back towards Dalkeith from Garvald. In blue CCE.
Were you with the Porto Velo Peloton or another group? There seemed to be about 50 cyclists around me a one point. It was a grand sight and feeling tbh, although there were a few whose road sense/etiquette left a bit to be desired. Not yours or the Recumbant's I hasten to add.
@chdot Sorry the top is currently in the wash as it got a bit smelly
@gembo very perceptive :)
@BE I started off with the Porto Velo lot. Never ridden with them before but they seemed like a genuinely nice and friendly bunch of people. As the group progressed along the road it picked up several groups of other riders who I couldn't vouch for. If anyone has played katarmari damacy it was a bit like that.
I've never ridden with them but intend to try. A pal, Hamish, was out with them yesterday. If they are all as friendly as him they'd be good company. albeit quicker company than I am!
Yes. Porto Velo a good crowd.
Sad to hear that Christiana Trikes from Leith have been torched. I think though that vandalism agains such things isn't unheard of elsewhere.
In Amsterdam and Copenhagen they quite often dump assorted bikes into canals. This is because they have less cars to vandalise in city centres though.
Second time one of these has gone missing with the Soderberg one earlier in year that was recovered and seems to stay in the shop doing not a lot. Maybe they could donate or sell it as think they found a simple porter on wheels could do the short journey?
@earthowned presumably you weren't all being propelled by a tiny alien prince?
Christiania trike, with three kids, at least one of which was enjoying an ice cream. Only the helmets gave it away as not being Copenhagen.
Trike by Anthony Robson, on Flickr
Lots of cyclists out on Granites route. DaveC going north near turn for Heriot?
Spotted a train between Stow and Heriot from the up and down old coach road.
acsimpson on Friday afternoon cresting the Agilent hill. We greeted each other, but was only a split second. I wasn't on the hybrid, but a new white cross bike.
Spotted on Saturday: burnt out wrecks left by joyriders by the Restalrig path, near the Seafield end.
A Vauxhall?
A cargo trike. There was another directly opposite, which I didn't spot at first. Both set alight because of their combustible plywood boxes. The other had its rear wheel liberated, which is maybe why I didn't spot it at first. The rear wheel lock was not locked, and a closed D-lock lay amongst the wreckage: clearly whatever this trike had been locked to was not an immovable object. So, cargo trike owners: lock you transport up properly, it seems your vehicles are popular joyrider targets.
A rather tasty looking Genesis bike (Volare maybe?), with Dura Ace wheels and Di2 groupset on the train this morning. I suspect looking at the weather now it will be on the train on the way back too.
My Kaff looked rather scruffy next to it.
Paddyirish, I wondered if that was you, although by the time you shouted my name and I turned round I was too late to see who it was. I hope my position didn't have anything to do with you catching the overhanging bush.
@crowriver
These were 2 cargo bikes stolen from Crops in Pots. T'was reported in the local rag last week. Shame.
Spotted Kaputnik on roseburn terrace - I was shirt and trousering it in quick-sharp before the scheduled rain forced me to change my clothing to ride to work.
