Almost Horizontal said "DaveC going north near turn for Heriot?"
Not me gov'nr, I was at home with the children.
CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 15years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.
RULES No personal insults. No swearing.

Timmy Mallet cycling the NCN.
(In North Wales).
(On Twitter).
"Timmy Mallet "
I remember him, but I was much younger and in Manchester.
Chrisfl plus passenger at the aquaduct this eve but I was past before I could say hello.
The distinctive BL beige sahara latte tones of a Kaffenback heading into Haymarket past the Donaldson's Hospital, about 845AM.
@kaputnik That may have been me, black top, red helmet, bullhorns on bike?
@Roibeard steaming home in the sunshine on some collapsible contraption with a big grin on his chops.
Spotted on the NEPN yesterday evening. Not something I've seen there before. Stopped to let us past. Also spotted, that lady.
Click to see bigger. I need to figure out embedding images...
What. On. Earth?
I mean, why? And how? And who thought it was a good idea? And was SatNav involved?
@chdot I think I've seen that lady on the canal towpath. Very impressive - great pic.
@twq I assume that brushwagon was on its way to sweep up le_soigneur's glass. It was certainly free thereof yesterday evening...
Is that a street sweeper? I thought it was a cement mixer!
It says "Highway Maintenance" on the back. I don't care what it was doing, it shouldn't be driven down the cycle path! Why can't they send a man with a brush for the glass?
"Why can't they send a man with a brush for the glass?"
same reason they can't send a man with a shovel to clear the cycle paths of overgrown grass?
I'm pretty sure it was a cement mixer. I should have asked when I went past.
Definitely mixer.
Unlikely to be lost(?)
So is anything being done (presumably next to path??)
Aha. Opening the full image (which is blocked at work) would have helped. Not a brushwagon, then. Maybe it was actual people with brushes, or maybe a small brushwagon if they managed to spare one from the footways of the High Street.

There's now a shiny handrail either side of the newly-surfaced escape path to Telford Drive, but I didn't look to see how the vertical supports had been embedded.
So
New railings with small amount of concrete for posts??
Spotted Big John coming down the WoL Path on the bridge over the A70 heading for canal. He was telling me he gets his bus pass in March. Good advert for walking a lot and drinking very little. He then veered slightly onto the topic of bowel cancer screening. He had ignored this and when he then went to the GP about a twinge in his back he was given a very thorough going over. I then told him the following joke which he liked
A wee old man who is a bit hard of hearing has to go to the doctor and takes his wife to help him with what the doctor says. He describes his symptoms and the doctor says We will need a stool sample a urine sample a semen sample and a blood sample. he says to his wife - What did he say? And his wife shouts HE WANTS YOUR PANTS.
Also spotted today a plaque on the underside of the concrete aqueduct at slateford that it is called The Prince Charlie bridge, near this spot at Grays Mill did Prince Charles Edward Stuart make camp. Lot of half marathon tired looking people hirpling off the 44 bus from which I made this spot.
Solo Pino rider going through Inverleith Park this afternoon. Don't know if it was Roibeard or not-Roibeard.
Spotted the recumbent tandem outside a cafe in Peebles, alongside a solo recumbent and an upright, but didn't spot Mr Laidback inside; he then appeared just as we were going and I came over all shy and didn't say hello.
Aw Fimm... we were just on way to Galashiels. That No1 Peebles Road Cafe is great isn't it? That was Mrs LB's first cycle over the Granites.
Our first trip back on Borders railway too from Tweedbank.
Where were you heading? Sorry I didn't register you - if you had your Brompton it would have been easier! (As at Akva evening!)
Wilmington, Queen's Drive. I was behind a group of four cars which had stuck at or below 30mph on the curve round from Pollock.
@Laidback our bikes were, err, in the car... I'd been doing St Mary's Loch triathlon and Boyfriend of Fimm had been out for a cycle while I was racing.
We just had coffee and cake - actually we were a touch disappointed as we fancied big pieces of cake and that's not what they do. The coffee was good.
Did you get all those bikes on the train? I'm surprised and impressed!
Spotted Dave and other half of Dave at the Applecross duathlon. We then all ended up briefly hanging out at this photo gallery which was very nice! https://www.facebook.com/applecrossgallery?fref=ts (sorry for FB)
There was an interesting discussion about whether different genders liked sunrise photos or sunset photos more. Dave and myself seemed to buck whatever trend had been noticed.
Purchased a lovely print of applecross bay in winter from the belaech,
Also Kappers this morning giving a friendly wave which I returned far too late for him to see!

I got a huge slice of carrot cake when I went. Perhaps you need to look even hungrier than you did (it comes naturally to audaxers).
