CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 15years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.
RULES No personal insults. No swearing.

@steveo:
"Slightly existential crisis while walking home. Chap on a white genesis with green caradice rode past me. Only the third carradice i've seen in action. Bit weird seeing a bike very like your own geared up as yours is."
1 rear light on the saddlebag, another on the seatstay? It was possibly me on my way to / from work... where and when was this?
[P.S. Hi all, I'll put up an introduction post in a while]
bueno estente primalgeek
it was on Slateford just before the Caly brewery about 1730.
yip, that was me heading homeward to Livingston. Another spotted case solved!
"Another spotted case solved!"
CCE gets weirder/more obsessive/incestuous.
Someone spotted before they joined!
Chap on a mountain bike heading down North Bridge this morning towards Leith with a pet box on his pannier rack.
Caught up with him at the lights at the Balmoral. Couldn't see the creature inside but there was something moving in there in the little blanket. It could have been a kitten, but it could also have been a snake - I cannot rule it out. Guy rode off very quickly, possibly to meet someone in connection with the animal, and I lost track.
Salsa tourer in mustardy green between Morrison Street and Haymarket, white ortlieb city luggage, discs and flat bars. Nice looking bike and could fairly move. He got a much better line through the stramash of taxis trying to U-turn both infront and behind of the airport bus into a queue of cars on the other side of the road, thus completely boxing in the bus and preventing anyone filtering through...

Sorry my fault, in future i'll check the membership cards before posting a spotted :D
PG: Nice set up, as i said eerily familiar.
Spotted while shopping by tandem.
Young rider on BMX bike hammering down past Scotmid - must have picked up speed on hill past Velo Ecosse.
Lights change to red and I here buzzing noise as he uses right foot to rub on back tyre. Bike snakes a bit from left to right as he 'burns rubber'.
Halts in ASL.
Makes a change from riding on pavements and jumping reds so I was impressed. (Maybe too easily?!)
miggy - thats our mechanic Brad with Kirkwood the lab puppy.
he comes to work with him.
@tbc - Wow, what a spot, if I do say so myself :-) It's up there with the woman being towed by her dog.
""It's up there with the woman being towed by her dog.""

A highly yellow Kaputnik on South Bridge.
A moderately red Min (the jacket, not that she was out of puff!), going the other way on South Bridge.
Coming down Mayfield Rd, a female cyclist with cycle decorated with (plastic?) flowers, wrapped around down tube and around basket.
Some weeks back, at Gilmerton Crossroads, someone cycling with another bike carried in hand. Stunning
The man who I bought my Audax frame off of ebay from brought it round by bike, wearing it!
"someone cycling with another bike carried in hand"
I presume you mean carried - not just steered(?)
"Coming down Mayfield Rd, a female cyclist with cycle decorated with (plastic?) flowers, wrapped around down tube and around basket. "
Oh I saw her the other day. Forgot to mention it on here.
"frame off of ebay from brought it round by bike, wearing it!"
That's easy - whole bikes is slightly more difficult - need to be reasonable size frame + not too heavy...
"I presume you mean carried - not just steered(?) "
Oh yes
"I presume you mean carried - not just steered(?) "
Oh yes
I've done it with a kids' bike - but not far (or in traffic)!
I tried cycling one bike whilst wheeling another once... the scars have healed up really well I'm pleased to report!
Spotted today: Bananna Man @ Harrison Park/Olgive Terrace
said hello as I came onto Harrison park to cyclist in yellow (thou not altura day glo) jacket and then noticed as we rolled to Ashley the 2 bags of banannas tied to his rucksack. Black brooks saddle and spokes trouser clip things. Made me smile after a long day in the office
