I saw a cap that I thought might be wilmington's cow when I turned around after seeing some very bright lights go by....
Turns out it was and that he'd said hi. Oops.
CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 15years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.
RULES No personal insults. No swearing.

Lovely frankenbike at Cameron Toll;
Unrestored vintage Bugatti frame and forks
Moustache handlebars with bar-end brake levers
Shimano Nexus hub gear
Modern side-pull rear brakes
Steel vintage cranks and double chainring
Drum brake modern front hub
Saddle off a modern Charge
Improvised porteur rack
Odd in-line wooden 'roller' on top of the rear mudguard
Wonderfully eccentric.
HankChief with junior HankChiefs this morning.
I followed from a distance through the back streets round Murrayfield but never quite caught up.
First time I've seen his fully loaded wagon train. It's an impressive set-up: must be a fun way for the kids to get about. The tail-gunner looked particularly relaxed despite the pouring rain.
@stickman - Did the yellow stripes on my bike make me easier to spot? ;-)
Yeah, the tail gunner gets the best ride. He assures me he is saving his energy to be a 'boost' on the hill.
Guy on a unicycle this morning, cycling in traffic- track standing at the Hope Park Terrace lights before heading on to Melville Drive.
Just seen a unicyclist in S.Clerk St. Very likely the same one.
The Mismatched Panniers of Wilmington's Cow. His socks matched, though.
A be-Bromptoned Arellcat turning out onto Morningside Road this evening. I was marshalling two tired and mildly hypoglycaemic children home from school and she was in an assertive primary position at the junction and glaring at the car behind her, so we both had our hands full and it didn't seem the right time for a chat...
Kenny must have got up early today to give us a cheery greeting on our way into town - I often spot him on my way out of town once the kids have been dropped off.
I also should report a couple of false spots on QuietRoute9. A colleague told me he saw us most days and had an orange jacket so we were waving at everyone fitting that description this morning. The first 2 were quite bemused but fortunately the 3rd was him...
Afraid I didn't spot you in return, Greenroofer. The driver behind me was a little close for my liking!
Sp[i/y]t[e][f/ph][i/y]r[e], whichever spelling he's currently allowed to log in with.
Too many CCERS to mention at the Walk, Cycle, Vote event (for fear of omitting someone I should know) but I'm pretty sure it was daisydaisy & i at my table.
Also ARobComp in the Haymarket area as I was heading in. I was in disguise on my pub bike (which also has yellow stripes!)
Did daisy daisy ask a question which the politician avoided and then she pressed the point by saying Give me your answer do?
Aha! Someone said "Hi fimm" at Haymarket this morning. I knew I knew them from here, but I couldn't remember who they were... That would have been ARobComp.
I know HankChief was at the Walk, Cycle, Vote event from twitter; I didn't actually see you!
Also, spotted a chap on a unicycle last night.
I saw HankChief tiptoeing into Cycling Scotland Reception (thanks for the invitation, Tulyar) and in the WCF/#WCV event. Chatted with lots of people, met some new people and renewed some acquaintances from last year's CS Conference.
This evening on Valleyfield St I spotted a guy with a green laser device on his handlebars projecting a bicycle symbol onto the ground a few yards in front of him.
Looks neat, but I'm not sure how many people actually noticed it, even in the impending gloom of Storm Abi-gale.
@Ariellcat that does sound pretty cool. You've reminded me that I'm pretty sure the guy heading east along the canal towpath around 5ish this evening had brake lights!
His rear red light seemed to glow more brightly when he slowed down. Either that or the stormy weather is affecting my eyesight.
Shuggiet (I think) and junior, coming out of Blackford Hill and then catching me up at the Blackford Avenue junction. Sorry for not being more chatty, but I was running a little late to get registered for the race I was heading for...
Fimm.. Yes that was us on the way to a Go-Ride session at the Inch. For a short traffic light sequence chat, I thought we were all pretty chatty!
Spotted wingpig steaming up Leith Walk this morning at an impressive rate of knots. I was Bromping down the hill and doing a Leith Walk pothole slalom.
Specialized Allez outside the commie pool this morning.
On-Guard D-lock, complete with mortal remains of the jack that some ned had attempted to use to break the lock still stuck inside the D-lock.
Presumably the owner had discovered it like that in the morning and had to ride to the pool for training carrying the jack remnants. Poor soul.
I can just see Arellcat in my footage from that morning. I kept that segment as the motorbike steaming past my elbow will be sent to the council in reference to the allow-PTW-in-bus-lanes experiment.
I had a fiat 500 thinking it was a bus yesterday
I like to support CEC and not moan but they have messed up with this loosening of bus lanes as it will just have people saying Oh I thought I was allowed to drive in them (at rush hour. Glasgow's 7-7-7 approach is Miles Better
The mighty uberuce ploughing through fairmilehead tonight in fetching white jersey and black cap
That black cap was a Christmas gift from our fearless leader. Served me well, it has.
I didn't technically recognise you in return(being as you were masked by darkness, lid and lens), but since I don't know anyone else quite so willing to bellow an internet username in public, I took a gembogamble and returned in hopeful kind.
Lochrin Basin (not seen for nearly 150 years).

SEVEN other cyclists heading south up Leith Walk at the same time as me this morning. I've seen four or five in each direction spread out along the whole length before but these were all almost together, albeit to the immediate left of a large non-articulated truck which I was waiting behind as it had been signalling left.
Spotted ruggtomcat recumbing his way out of the Innocent Tunnel at St Leonards, earlier this afternoon. Since one beard-second is 10 nanometres, it must be at least three months since it wasn't there, but it's been longer than that since I last spotted you.
I was heading in an extremely roundabout way towards Marchmont, on account of being far too early.
Caught up with HankChief and his clan this morning and managed to say hello.
Nice front wheel lights - Revolights?
