Last night I gave way to a cyclist on Melville Drive sporting fairy lights for front illumination.

@jdanielp Yes, one boy on the back and one on the front. I find fully loaded, acceleration is very slow, but I can maintain a good speed on the flat.

I paused at the wee tunnel at Pinkhill to let an oncoming cyclist get past a dog walker. The cyclist nodded and I think it may have been kaputnik?

I was spotted at Damhead by a woman who was driving out of the Secret Herb Garden. I know this since she turns out to work in my building, recognised me as I was locking up and came over to congratulate me on being so swift.

I must admit I wouldn't have expected to keep pace with a car over that route.

Well you are a bit fast, but it certainly highlights that cars aren't quicker - even away from the city centre.

Yes I think that most probably would have been, to confuse matters not on my usual bike as it has been structurally condemned, much like the Forth Road Bridge.

Not through exceeding the designed weight limits I hope?

Taken this morning at approximately 7.50 at Edinburgh Waverley. I am told by a friend that it's still on the board this evening.

The departure time (blurry) was 7.19 I think. It was flashing 'Delayed' anyway.

West Coast Mainline is shut through flooding. Might have assumed they'd take it down the East instead?

Someone seemed to nod and smile in potential acknowledgement just past South Gyle station this morning. Red bike, perhaps single speeder, fluorescent lid.

DaveC spotted me in Waverley today. Seemed bemused by my lovely new raincape...

Spotted in Bruntsfield, a stately gentleman riding covered by a giant, well aged, bright yellow rain cape.

I parked up next to a splendid green Pedersen this afternoon at Cameron Toll. Then while packing up after the checkout I was spotted by Ulli Harding, so we had a wee chat.

Fog put me on the towpath today, though the blinding lights of some of the oncoming cyclists not much better.

However, good number of spots. Greenroofer aurally and visually, snowy visually and jdanielp visually

I concur - I passed a thoroughly beswaddled gembo gleefully cackling 'Crackle crackle!' at me in celebration (commiseration) for my freshly-installed Schwalbe Winter tyres.

    ...which I didn't need today.

@gembo I did attempt to shout a greeting back at you on Monday, apparently too late, but I didn't even manage to do that this morning... I'm out of practice spotting you.

Was that Chug behind me this morning as we headed out of our neck of the woods and down to the junction where I turn left? I had my hands slightly full with a loaded Brompton in the wind so couldn't turn round to check, and all I could see in my mirror was a light and the front of a Chug-shaped bicycle.

It was. I was admiring both your toplight and the speed you were piloting the brompton. And I carefully followed you round the huge pothole on the blind bend.

...that's a pothole that I have reported (complete with pictures) to @edinhelp, Clarence, FixMyStreet and Fillthathole (to no avail) because it's new, huge and right on my desire line round the corner. I'm worried that one day I'm going to get forced into it by a vehicle and if I do, I will come off. If that happens, I want to make sure that the council have no excuse for not knowing about it.

    Where is this pothole?

Just had my first Deliveroo bike spot. Overtaken (the shame) on Victoria St. I was on Helios but this guy was pushing on with huge box on his back. The bike was a white folder with a hi-tech monoblade frame. Bit like that electric concept bike from a few years ago.
Anyway he didn't do anything too crazy but it did all look a bit top heavy. Impressive hill climbing with small wheels on cobbles.

Did I spot Greenroofer with Brompton onboard a citybound tram, yesterday afternoon?

Gembo reverse spot on way to Cycle Service near new Deaconess Halls of Res. On tandem with forumer so easy spot for him of course. Think he's on this route a bit.

Yes up that way and then back down the QBC which was fairly thick with drivers parking on double yellows either shopping or shopkeepers unloading. Gangsta Santa however was virtually on the kerb.
