'man lying down on a bicycle' on canal towpath this morning around 7.30? (spotted by small person who now wants a recumbent of her own; when I explained that she would need to talk to Laidback (aka Danger Dave), she amended that to a 'two person recumbent'!)
Edit: aha! Now I know who it was!

Distance: 15.53 mi
Elevation Gain: 2,493 ftThe distance figures, but how did you managed to climb 2,493 feet on that route?!

As related in a contemporary topic, my Edge is broken and I had it in my pocket with the case open. I guess this means that pressure changes have a much bigger impact than calibrated for?
If you look at the altitude graph, overall it looks OK (finish at sea level, max of 100m) so the height must have accumulated from a lot of fine variation.

"Edge is broken"
My 205 seems to be too.
Seems to work OK but LCD has lost almost all contrast - details visible with strong light and viewed obliquely.
Any ideas??

My OS Map isn't broken :)

Dev - I didn't see you! You're obviously invisible (at least to anyone over 5)

@chdot, without teaching granny to suck eggs, have you tried changing the battery?
Posted 13 years ago # -
I was stealthing it pretty hard...
@ch, I'm afraid my electronics skills are weak. You could try contacting Garmin support and asking if they'd let you swap up for a refurb at reduced price. (My Edge 705 is costing £100, for RRP £315 back in the day)

saw those blue bib shorts again tonight - twice in two days, I hope they will be on show tomorrow in Balerno too

Are you kidding? Those are my weekday dhb duds! Only ever wear my black Assos sunday best at weekends
Posted 13 years ago # -
of course, how stupid of me, I had 3/4 lengths on today as it is still cold but even in the rain this week people were wearing shorts and t-shirts

Just saw a couple on a blue tandem going along Oxford Street (3.40pm ish)...anyone here?
They looked like they were having a fun time, at any rate :)!

Tricycle half-way up the Col de Climpy. Doesn't count though as turns out it was husky-powered

Arellcat, twice, onna blue Brommie. First in Musselburgh on a side street looking at a map; then emerging from the prom at Seafield (the legal bit) as I was heading home from the tip. Both times I was carbound so issued no call!

That reminds me - yesterday evening, Black Breompton with dayglo yellow forks, bars and rear triangle, Melville Drive, c. 615PM

Afraid I can't reciprocate the spot, Anth! I was out for a 26 mile potter with friends today, out to Musselburgh and Newhailes and Portobello. Mr QC didn't seem to be around, and I was all rehearsed for unpicking his arguments. Still managed to get one critical remark from someone on the Prom, though, but everyone else was out enjoying the sunshine and having a lovely time.

Ridbeack shopperbike pulling a kiddie trailer in yellow cordura (and we all know how I feel about yellow). Ridist was in green flowery stockings, knee high leather boots, denim dress and brown leather jacket. Way more stylish than me...

A woman on a foldy/shoppy thing with a big front-mounted bag, wide beret with a feather in it, long black woollen coat and three-inch heels heading unhurriedly into the wind up around the under-crag cycle path between the Parliament and Pollock. I was too warm in short breathable sleeves.

If it was a Brompton, she used to work at my work. Told her about cycle chic, but never got a picture. Exceedingly smart looking.

"If it was a Brompton"
Yes.
I took a photo last year (it's the feather), but doesn't seem to be on Flickr.

Think I overtook (with due deference and diligence) several groups out on an erc ride. Looked fun. I was in a crappy clio.

Chap in a sun hat having some sort of folding bike issues on Drummond Place, was about to turn right onto Scotland Street then suddenly dismounted and started inspecting things closely. Can only presume the cobbles shook something loose, like they almost shook my tightly-affixed sunglasses off. It looked like a Moulton (lots of thin tubes) but with bigger wheels.
Red Brompton being folded up to get taken into the Cafe Royal for a pint - I can see the utility now!
