    The CCE effect in action:

    "@zioscozio

If you cycle with no hands in the Meadows, likely you'll be asked for a high five by other cyclists. Happened to me twice! :) @POPScotland"

Possible double spot of acsimpson today. This morning, above Cramond Brig were you wearing blue? This afternoon as you were going onto the bridge.

Chap towing a trailer-type thing with two children in it on the way to Silverknowes. Looked quite a wobbly ride for the passengers. One child behind the other. To start with I thought it was a tandem from the rear.

    EDIT: probably a WeeHoo...

@paddirishh, yup me both times. Contrary to popular belief I do own non red tops. It mostly depends what's the best offer when. I need a new one rather than a bias for one side of the rainbow.

The blue is my lightweight wind and shower proof layer.

LaidBack on some sort of tandem thing with a sturdy-looking rear package-carrying arrangement at the rear, going from Simple St to Lothian Road.

That's the Cargo rack for Circe Helios. Now I'm 1 mile from Bicycle Works I've had to up my game and be inventive. Hitching Carry Freedom trailer on I can carry lots of boxes. Value of carrying rig around £2k (Helios is £1500 with guards and BB7, rack is £300 and trailer is £250) Value of items being carried £don't ask!
Weight carried - 30kg on rack and lot less on trailer.
Most bike shops just buy a big van which allows them to moan about parking and motoring costs!

Azub Ti-FLY trike in the big box has taken over six months to arrive. Sure it will be spotted soon. I'm told that only six have been made so far. One here. Two in USA. Rest on mainland Europe.

About same as a recumbent or brompton. Steering goes light.

Mid-morning, I spotted a guy pedalling his Xtracycle mountain bike out along Newcraighall Road. Looked pretty good.

Later, at the junction of Jock's Lodge I spotted an unhappy child with his Mum and Dad, Dad carrying the wee one's balance bike. His parents had put his helmet on back to front.

Later still, I thought I spotted UtrechtCyclist heading up Holyrood Road towards the Cowgate, carrying a guitar; the big black upright bike looked quite Dutch anyway.

chrisfl gets around. I spotted him and his family heading towards the Meadows as they joined the start of the segregated path at St. Leonard's Street from the interesting seasonal produce restaurant Aizle which is just across the road. A little later on I spotted the Red Arrows passing the Crags on their way to open the Tattoo...

I missed all the fun, although the grassy are by the primary school was pretty crowded when I passed at about 7.

  23. Couple of bike helmets in the Blind Poet last night for the Blind Poetics 5th Annual Big Night of the Spoken Word.

I'd considered riding, but was slightly distracted by trying to remember my piece, so the bus was more sensible (also wasn't entirely keen on leaving the bike chained up till midnight...).

Had a bonus haiku about track cycling too.

Yes it was great to see Hankchief and his amazing tandem plus tagalong at south queensferry yesterday. How much help are the kids when you have to climb up the hills?

Afraid that wasn't me you saw the other day Arrelcat, I do own a guitar but haven't played it in many years, probably for the best.

@utrechtcyclist: they don't give much help. If I shout they will do something but they quickly say they're tired and leave me to it.

    All good training though.
