@fimm that would be MrSRD with Micro, Mini, and friend of Mini-srd as stoker on their way back from an expedition to east lothian

Ah, that's embarrassing, given that I have met MrSRD before (he and Micro brought PoP stuff to my flat one year).

No worries. It was at the end of a longish day, and we needed to drop off friend of mini-SRD sharpish. Hope our peloton/cavalcade wasn't too threatening to the pedestrians...

Dave recumbatroning towards the Red Bridge on the NEPN this morning.

Lady on a bakfiets heading uphill at Pinkhill this morning with a passenger in the front.

A vague floor-colleague who I've previously seen on an electric-assist bike and a normal bike was arriving on a kick-scootler yesterday. She appeared to be letting someone have a quick go of it in a corridor this morning. In the past few weeks I've seen similar in use along Palmerston Place, Queensferry Street and Leith Street.

@MrSRD "Hope our peloton/cavalcade wasn't too threatening to the pedestrians..." good heavens no! I just noticed it because it was nice to see the children out cycling and then I noticed the tandem and wondered if it was someone off here!

    (Is the beard new?)

One day I'll spot wingpig with enough confidence and time to say hi. Today was not that day.

Spotted following wingpiglet into Leith Links (I was heading up the ramp behind two others).

  9. Bearded chap riding a handcycle on the NEPN around Craigleith yesterday. Thought it might be @wilmingtonscow's mate but he was somewhat older ;-)

A beautiful ginger and white Maine Coon, sunning itself on the brick wall opposite the bike racks at Savacentre/Cameron Toll.

Many enthralled onlookers, some leaving bits of chocolate, and saucers of milk or water, but Big Cat was having none of it, preferring to sprawl and be stroked.

Congratulated Markus Stitz on his epic single speed ride at the Dalriada and then spotted an option A flag on a handsome tourer - belonging to daisydaisy as it turned out...

I was heading home along the A701 near Blyth Bridge this afternoon, when I was passed by lots of motorcycles. I mean lots of motorcycles. There were motorcycles with two wheels, three wheels and four wheels. Some were noisy and American, some were very quiet (and large) Japanese ones. There were quite a few police mixed in with them too.

One of the bikes (enduro-style with aluminium panniers) passed me very carefully and gave a wave. Was it being polite or was it someone who recognised me?

Just standard biker courtesy I'd think. Probably connected with the annual Highland event for genteel motorcyclists.

@IWRATS - they were by no means all Harleys, and were by no means all completely courteous, but it was actually rather fun being part of it. It was a constant stream that went on for ages. I'm guessing if you were in a car you'd have been stuck behind it, rather than experience it pass you the way it passed me.

Indeed - there's no strict Harleys-only rule as people chum their mates up north on other makes. I nearly bought an ex-army NATO despatch bike to attend this rally a few years back as an obscure joke. Still might in fact.

Just glad you caught the vibe.

We emerged in Aviemore after a weekend in the Cairngorms the weekend of this one year, weirdest thing after absolute peace to arrive with hundreds of harelys streaming past. Shared a room with a few riders whos mates had let them down, after it turned out there was no room at the inn.

Got back from the pub after 3 of the 5 to which we most proudly proclaimed we could out drink 3/5 of harely riders!

Spotted wingpig coming down Haymarket presumably being one of the half dozen cyclists going through Roseburn (in a minute or two)

Yesterday or today? If it was yesterday you could have seen chdot and Alison Johnstone too.

Signs about a closure of the canal towpath, which I spotted at Harrison Park this morning. I will try to remember to stop and read one of them on the way home.

Well it did end in the pub so not a complete loss I suppose. From where I seen Arellcat recumbenating in to town.

Was followed up Argyle Place by @cc this afternoon - tried to turn round and wave but I think my passenger got in the way

Chap cycling near Gilespie Crossroads with small child in rear seat - small child wearing helmet camera! I'm not sure how much you'd see from that other than Daddy's back...

Hankchief using his enormous mauser moustache to sweep the streets whilst driving around - accompanied by madame IWRATS and an eccentric Irish friend of mine - in a vintage car which I had fashioned from old beer cans.

Dreams, eh? If only the subconcious could be instructed to produce a feasible Option C.

IWRATS - Did Madame IWRATS mention that she spotted me yesterday on the High street having just retrieved my bike after the epic TEC?

Yes indeed. I'm sure that and the day's events are what prompted my first and hopefully last CCE dream.
