Spotted at least one of The Family SRD's bicycles near the Mosque on Potterrow. The vigil had a terrific turnout. I was a little dismayed, too, that it required a Police presence.

Hankchief and the Chieflets on Campbell Ave.

Due to following traffic could not do a high 15. Had to chase them up Cumlodden Ave to complete the mission.

AlanR tricycling along the canal at Harrison Park. Purple helmet lady headed west through Wester Hailes. Haven't been that way in a long time to see her.

Uberuce was spotted by my partner and the boy when they were up at IKEA waiting for the bus this afternoon.

In Edinburgh on Tuesday yesterday morning for the POP reboot, I spotted a very nice steel framed bike with old-fashioned looking drop handlebars and a brass Crane bell mounted in the centre, locked to the railings at the City Arts Centre near Waverley. Surely a forumite bike, I thought ...

  6. Wazzat yesterday? Was going to say 'should have shouted', but that might have got you some funny(er) looks on the bus...

Yes, yesterday afternoon. I'll save the shouting for when I am bike mounted again!

Forgot that I said hello to friskiffla on Tuesday morning as we were wending our merry way along South Bridge.

I also spotted Uberuce bombing down Pentland Terrace early one morning last week, but I was in disguise as a car passenger.

ARobComp - Recognisable recumbent tandem riding along the south shore of Loch Tummel.
I was wondering.... you were both breezing up these hills at Loch Tummel! Was a cracking day out. Also met Gregor from Velo Ecosse in Fortingall and John Heriot hanging out his van in Callander (the day before).

LB, is that the same hill we sweated our way up back in 2005?

Coming home on Wednesday along the canal about 6PM there were a couple of guys indulging in a spot of archery on the abandoned/overgrown basketball/football court at Murrayburn. Looked like pretty serious looking bows, the sort you see at the Olympics. So long as they keep their aiming strictly on target...

  12. Cargo bike on the Chancelot Path yesterday around 4.30'ish with Dad cycling and youngster sitting in the front holding what looked like a Wilson tennis racket bag.

    Anyone on here?

That car again, big white four by four parks on gravel on canal side beyond lift bridge, one day it might get damaged unless there is a reason for it to be there other than cheeky parking!?

Then more cheerfully arellcat very much higher than normal and then hankchief on the aqueduct we stopped for chat and held up the queue c'mon it is Friday

    One of several!
Did think of our gang of four heading out west on that Loch Tummel route. More uphill going that way but still challenging enough going east. The Keltneyburn over to Foss section on the B846 was easier although higher. All to do with grading.
I remember the big pull up to Rannoch before we invaded the London sleeper with four bikes. They said they'd never fit but they did - including your HPV Speedmachine.

Mrs LB was pleased as she never did this route solo on her old EBC Continental bike. Gembo was out on same road I see.

Indeedy, great day out. Dunkeld, Blairgowrie, Pitlochry, kinlochrannoch, fortingall, aberfeldy, dunkeld. At one point we went through a place called Dull, which is twinned with Boring Oregon

Gembo didn't make that up (for a change).

By an interesting coincidence Gembo, I just saw a picture of our mutual acquaintance the anthropology student* in front of that sign.

    Congrats to Leila

In another possible coincidence my eldest claims to have been at a lecture given by you this week. She is a fresher at your university. I thought she had only been to nite clubs but no, she claims to have been at an interesting sociology lecture given by an American woman. I asked leading question using your name and she said yes she thought that was the person's name and sociology is really interesting. Which was funny as I was suggesting she take sociology and she was a little dismissive of the idea, at the time but now is a total convert. Looking forward to the violence. I see you have front loaded your syllabus with the interesting stuff. Wait until the dead white males, Durkheim, weber and Marx get a grip.

nope. I have done lots of talks this week, but none to sociologists.

they can never tell the difference between any of us...

Daughter a bit vague so was not a definitive spot. We had lunch in vin caffe she had aubergine tapenade my old school friend had melanzane and I had pizza. They both took a slice of mine. Then we went to John Lewis and I bought her a fan as her incredibly expensive student digs are boiling. They are a total rip off but she seems to have bonded in hive with many other girls in the block. As you know, hive is Edinburgh's best niteclub.

Good to spot & chat to Gembo on the aqueduct.

I was en route to a team bowling night - 105 & 107 in case you were wondering.

It was a lovely pootle along the canal and needless to say I arrived first and got a cheap round in whilst awaiting my motorised colleagues - Win!

    When will they learn...

About ten cycle-Deliveroons (in regalia, with backboxes) hanging around a pair of benches in the Grassmarket, for reasons not immediately obvious to the eye.

I'm pretty sure your question mark is ironic (but just in case, several years now). As a regular user of these steps, with bike, the problem with the ramp is that it is so close to the wall that handlebars snag the handrail making it unusable. And while we're talking about these steps, what are the spectacular bollards at the base of the steps for? What are they meant to prevent?

They're ram-raid spec security bollards presumably installed to the letter of an overzealous standard stating they should protect every entrance to a station - never mind it's just a set of steps leading up to a footbridge. King's Cross has quite the collection.

Spotted HankChief's tandem in the rack at the observatory as I was departing. Good job getting that up the hill with passengers!

No, the child drew my attention.

I hardly ever use that entrance.

It worked pretty well with the wee man's bike strapped across the back. Chicanes were even more 'interesting' than usual, with a couple of brushes with street furniture.

We tried the exit from Inch park to Cameron Toll car park, but couldn't fit through and had an awkward reverse to try a different route.

The real challenge though was hitting Russell Road as the football was kicking out. We were too wide to filter down the left so we just did the whole length on the wrong side of the road :-)

As well as spotting & talking to @MrSRD, @Shuggiet, @chdot & @aimc at the Cyclo-cross, I did spot (from a distance) a CCEr, but I can't for the life of me remember his CCE name. I know his real name and twitter alias but drawing a blank on CCE. So if you were at the Observatory, then I'm calling it as a spot.
