@acsimpson on the A90 sliproad this morning. You'd just passed the bus shelter and about to begin the descent, I was the 2nd of two fellow red-topped cyclists.

I got spotted by a random genial middle aged guy in Gorgie clearly eckied out of his box but a keen fan of Marin frames. Rides a Trek himself, as the Marins are too dear.
Also a shy young student smiled and said hello as she overtook me on her ill-sized student shonker going up Yeaman Place. Think she was embarassed going past an old guy in bicycle kit.

Anth on Lochrin Place yesterday around 5.30? On orange bike taking evasive action around mobile-using pedestrian. Was on foot other side of road.
Posted 8 years ago # -
Yeah, shakedown of the new bike (probably its only every commute). Pedestrian was on the phone, and I'd slowed down on seeing that, then she looked back, made eye contact (I thought). Thankfully I didn't speed up and she then just stepped out into the street. Speaking Italian. They've got different road rules there (have driven into central Turin - it's mental).

A super-enthusiastic high five from an apparently time travelling gembo just along from the lifting bridge.

spotted, ME!!! by a rider this morning, as I rode down to Cramond Brig. On a Blue road bike, newish looking road helmet and a bladder type bag. Dunno who it was, but 'Hi back at ya'!!
I have looked at Strava flyby and See Scott was the helloer...

A dude on Mitel Wiese Weg doing that lovely thing of cycling along pushing a spare bike. I take absolutely any excuse to do that myself.

The old pushing a spare bike routine has died out. You used to see it all the time in the 1970s

Micro-Greenroofer and I bumped into MrSRD and Micro-SRD at a Saturday morning activity that it transpires both Micros have been attending for years without either of us bumping into each other there before. We noted how there's always a fine display of quality children's bikes parked out the front (Islabike and Frog in abundance)...

On one block of Polwarth gardens - someone who must be mrs Chrisfl + stoker and childseat occupant. Then laidback heading in the opposite direction.
Posted 8 years ago # -
Yes, that was mrs chrisfl - I was following around 500m behind rapidly trying to catch up.

Morningsider this morning on Leamington Walk.
On Leith Links yesterday afternoon there was a bloke on a bike which was emitting some sort of loudspeaker-derived musical noise. The bike was being leant against a range of lamp-posts and benches whilst its rider pottered about swinging a golf bat. He may have had balls but I don't recall hearing any of those thwack-pinging noises you sometimes hear when golfsters are golfering about.

cycled alongside the "Necrobus" from Dundas Street to the top of the mound earlier - alarmingly pertinent name for a vehicle emitting that many particulates....

Mrs LB spotted around 9 from tram to work...
Cyclist down at bottom of Lothian Road. Ambulance in attendance. Tram halted but not involved AFAIK. Hope whoever it is recovers soon.

Slightly odd experience this evening. As I was crossing Morningside Drive this evening at about 1710 a bike came down the road heading East. Dropped bars and likely a steel-framed bike, and going at a fair speed with the high cadence of a 'serious' cyclist, but the pilot (male, light-coloured cropped hair) was dressed in normal clothes rather than lycra (dark-blue T-shirt, I think). The style of the cyclist and the bike had 'CCE regular' written all over them.
We exchanged a 'Do I know you?' look, but although he was familiar, I didn't recognise him. He had an air of being @Wilmington's Cow, but wasn't.
I was pushing a black flat-bar bike, dressed in a black/blue top and grey Vulpine cap, and accompanied by two children on scooters. Was it you who passed us?

Got my new bike last month, been glued to it since.
If you see this green machine out and about, say hi as I'll probably say hi to you. I apologise in advance for anything I do which warrants a mention in the "todays rubbish cycling" thread. Still relearning a lot of lessons having been off the saddle for years. Last week was particularly bad.
Monday to Thursday I can be see cycling from Craigmillar to Leith (and Leith to Gorgie on Tuesdays due to meetings), and often out and about at the weekend. Photo was taken after a trip to the FRB last week.
