"Dental floss" is all you need to validate most insurance policies (ie locked to an immovable object). A better lock just reduces the chances of needing to make a claim.

HankChief on Glasgow Road, braving the chill in shorts & tshirt. Hardcore. I was in a car so wouldn't have been reverse-spotted.

Two camera cyclists in quick succession crossing from Bernard Terrace to Hope Park Terrace. I always wonder if they/you are folk on here....

And I saw someone else speeding along in shorts and short sleeves. I suspect he only had short-fingered gloves on as well. To put this in perspective, it was 3 degrees when I left home and parts of the route it was near zero.

Och for the days when I could still underdress for the conditions. My body canna take it anymore!

A guy walking down Henderson Tce this morning, dressed as Snow White, carrying a half empty bottle of vodka and flashing his short yellow skirt at passing motorists.

He was attracting a lot of attention from passers by and motorists alike.

    Two camera cyclists

Reminds me - guy wrapped up in fluorescent winter gear on the Innocent on Sunday. It was tee-shirt weather.

Neoprene face mask, wraparound dark glasses, massive camera bolted to the top of his MTB helmet.

Looked like some kind of day-glo infantry soldier.

Most mornings for the past few months there's someone going clockwise on the NEPN wearing a zipped-up coat with a scarf/mask thing pulled up above their zygomatic bones and what looks like one of those head-warming band things. Perhaps they have many of different cloth weights in order to smoothly move between insect-inhalation-prevention and face-warming, though that doesn't account for the coat.

Forgot this from Saturday afternoon around 1:30-2ish - recumbent with bright front light coming down Middle Meadow Walk crossing the central bit where North Meadow Walk crosses, very fast with a loud dinging of bell and subsequently on the wrong side of the cycle path directly at me.... not the most considerate piece of riding where pedestrians are likely to be milling and not paying attention.

Jdanp had his t shirt and shorts on yesterday but more layers today.

I tend to find I run quite hot on the big bike as it is so hard to get it and keep it at cruising speed.

I had extra layers with me but didn't feel the need.

@gembo the main difference in the mornings was going from a short to long-sleeved base layer, although this evening I had long cycling bottoms on as well as my winter jacket.

I was a bit cold this morning. I had shorts on today with merino long sleeve base layer and thinner merino long sleeve top from the company Torm. I like Torm. Bit like Rapha except run by two blokes and their dog. Price between Aldi and Rapha.

If it was an LB customer I can only apologise - nothing was test ridden beyond the Viewforth area. I was at shop Saturday during day. At this time of year most people rake speed in a bit as there's wet leaves on the tactile grids there. I will enquire.

Lastnight on my way south on Goldenacre path leading to 5 ways I spotted something in the dak which looked very much like a Quadribent Side-by-Side Recumbent bike. Male cyclists on left and lady on the right. Only this bike I think was 3 wheeled not 4.

    http://blackbirdbikes.com/quadribent.htm

It could have been a Dual Team Trike (Side by Side)

Thanks, that may have been them, as there was definately more than one cycle in the group.

Saw the group at Five Ways yesterday evening - perhaps eight or nine. One of the larger recumbenty things was augmented with glowing purple tubes on its frame.

There were four or five fluorescent-tabard clipboard-people on the NEPN near Bangholm this morning. There was a dismounted cyclist talking to them so they might have been surveying rather than just counting. No logo or livery that I noticed.

I think I was spotted by SRD yesterday evening. I heard the greeting and the voice was familiar, but I was in high power torpedo mode up Polwarth Gardens and it was pretty dark out there.

Waved to friskiffla on my way to work this morning.

Then out on the bike at lunchtime I said hello to steveo, near Edinbugh Park station. I was on my way to the quiet roads of Gogar.

Spotted today two people undertaking a survey at the Portobello end of the western promenade. They looked suspiciously like the SUSTRANS people I saw on the canal a couple of weeks ago.

I gave them a smile in each direction but wasn't stopped.

Yep. Stopped for a short chat. They were counting everything that moved. Been there since 8 am. Must have been freezing.

A bike with two flags flying on Glasgow road. It was behind the pedestrian railings so took me a couple of seconds to realise it was Hankchief.

As he cycled away I was then joined by the local Bakfiets crossing the road.

Google street view car on Great Junction Street around 10:30 this morning. It was stuck in traffic so I probably won't be in any of its photos.
