  1. "And it's about time that someone saw... Anth_on_way_to_work who obviously hadn't listened to his mum's advice about getting cold kidneys.

Me passenger in a yaris on the most irritatingly blocked car journey every."

Where was that? I was taking it veeeery easy in a lurgified state. Hadn't thought it was going to be so cold when I left the house this morning!

It wuz at the junction at the corner of Hanover and George this morning about 20 to 9. After being stuck in traffic at the grassmarket then the castle hill being closed my driver was getting creative.

  3. Ah yes. I got beeped at the end of George Street going onto Charlotte Square because (I think) I was sitting at a red light. Unless that was also you?

A stately maroon Pashley (Ladies) with a huge wicker basket on the front, on this evenings train from Edinburgh to Glasgow Queen Street. Brought a bit of dash and style to an otherwise vulgar trip :)

Pashley guv'nor (or similar style) ridden by bloke in flat cap, looking like he was whistling, turning onto Lothian rd from Princes st 2.30pm this afternoon.

I was passed [embarressed] by a guy heading from Davidson Mains towards Craigleith who was riding a cream coloured racer with matching coloured mudguards, which looked very pashley'esk, except I don't see it on their website.

SRD? Turning right off Polwarth on a helios tandem with small stoker! If it was you sorry for not waving, I was preoccupied watching the traffic.

Won a few things in his time. Is considering taking up campaigning against salt levels in food. Would quite like a new guitar.

(I see flickr is called "flicker" today...)

I daresay scoring a famous-rider-with-pink-bicycle spot can only increase one's Awesome Power rating.

I think I spotted a steveo this evening, heading along Dundee Street while I was tooling along on the monstrousbike.

Bike Friday on corner polwarth gardens/polwarth place. Saw the guy locking it up, didn't look at bike until we went by again. Wish I had stopped to talk.

Fabulous vintage/vintage looking - no name on frame, just black, straight-handlebars, and shield-like thingy under handlebars with 'Bike Friday' on it, which leads me to this website: http://www.bikefriday.com/

Please someone go take a picture! it's not like any of the bikes on the website as far as I can see. (update: went out and took some pics, not very good ones though. have emailed to chdot in hopes he can upload them -- even despite anth kindly telling me how last time, i still can't do it. If anyone else wants to see them, pm me your email.)

Whoo-hoo, my first random non PY spot! :-)
I saw Mr SRD first but haven't met him, and was working hard at making decent time and getting through the lights safely so I only got a glance at you, but the skirt, boots and Helios were enough of a giveaway ;-)
What a very smiley stoker you have as well!

I thought famous riders only increased your awesomeness if they were scalped? ;->

His bad knee and the bowl of chips he had for lunch might have given me the edge...

One brake and is that a chain tensioner on the back? Fixie?

Fixie? Seems to be. Still there. Check it out.

oh and Mr SRD (as he seems to be known) got some daytime pics.

Anyone out there want to claim the 'Brompton kitted out for all-terrain riding' that he saw at Waitrose?

Oh, and -- speaking of shopping -- why is the cycle rack at Asda not officially labelled as a smoking shelter? We were there yesterday with tandem and trailer, and the place was just full of smokers. very unpleasant. (I usually lock the bike on railings on the other side, and had never explored the 'official' parking before. won't be doing it again either!

@(Mr)SRD, what colour was the Brompton? I stopped by this evening on mine, just as a man with an orange Brompton was leaving. Afterwards when I was unlocking my bike, a chap with a white tag-along and little girl in tow was also leaving.

In my alter ego as Macchiato Guy I spotted American Werwolf, but not sure if he is a lurker or was being coy about his handle on this forum. His fave western is Once Upon A Time In The West. Good movie but need to broaden from Spaghetti - e.g. John Ford's The Searchers (Put an Amen In It)
