You might have spotted me as I was winching my way west up the Lanark Road from the Cross Keys pub this afternoon, towing a trailer with 15kg of soil in it. If it was you that passed me in your roadie gear on your road bike, heading west remember that (as we discussed) you don't get any points for overtaking me.

On the way home along the towpath (with a considerably lighter trailer) I passed a couple dressed in remarkably normal clothes on a green tandem.

Spotted the paratroop regiment out at quothquan beyond Carnwath on way to Thakerton. We were then interrogated by a cheerful west Calder cyclist at the tarbrax turn. I think as we all looked very muddy in Paris roubaix style as bizarrely more spray being thrown up by mudguards (roads had wrong kind of mud). Finally young lad on racer with white plimsolls and flat pedals. Any points for catching him? Helped by strongish north westerly on the whang?

Not sure why a recumbent tandem trike needs electric assist...? Surely fast enough on its own.

Think I just answered my own question:

    "...because you can"

Late reporting of yesterday's spot of Dave complete with headcam near Craigleith Y as I was heading towards Haymarket. Waved at last second and called out, but not sure if you spotted/heard me.

@daisydaisy making good progress down Myreside Road this evening. We both seemed to be wearing the same ProViz all-over reflective jackets.

I overtook @chrisfl on a splendid Helios with two small passengers on the towpath this evening. We exchanged greetings.

Spoke to a fellow cycle/train commuter on the Glasgow-Edinburgh line this evening, mostly about my gleaming golden CdF. If it was you I'm sorry I didn't say goodbye, I thought you were behind me as I got off at Haymarket...

I think someone wearing one of those kickstarter type helmety things. It had a fringe of white fairy lights round the front and a fringe of red lights making a triangle at the back. It was quite fun looking and not at all like those strings of LED lights all round some cars to make them look more angry and aggressive.

I caught up with Big John on the towpath this morning for the first time this year. Apparently he had been avoiding the towpath (and hence cyclists) recently because he was angry about the fact that his wife had a pavement cyclist collide with her a week or so ago on Nicolson Street and then cycle away, leaving her needing stitches. Apparently the cyclist has been charged (not sure for what exactly) and his wife is recovering well. Otherwise he and his family had enjoyed a relaxing Christmas and Hogmanay.

That must surely be the highly luminous Lumos helmetted SRD.

    The front page of the Scottish Daily Mail;

SNP LAUNCHES WAR ON SCOTTISH MOTORISTS

We really are through the looking glass, down the rabbit hole and sitting down for tea with the Mad Hatter.

Makes a change from the IAM quotes.

In case you are unaware -

    "

    The Alliance of British Drivers
The Alliance of British Drivers is a voluntary and non-profit-making organisation whose aim is to provide an active, responsible voice to lobby for Britain's drivers.

We campaign upon a wide range of driving issues, completely independent of any vested interest. We are not afraid to tackle government or councils who so often see drivers as a cash cow to be milked at will.

The Alliance is run by volunteers from amongst its membership in their spare time. We have no full-time employees.

Two guys climbing this tree in the pitch black using slings and headtorches. I did hail them and enquire why but they just said they fancied climbing a tree, dude.

The tree in the middle of the view when I click that link doesn't look large enough to hold a fat pigeon so I'll assume it's one of the neighbouring trees! :-)
