Was that @Dave I passed* heading west on the Lanark Road at about 17:15 today? I'd just joined the road after peeling off the canal at the WoL path. On a surprisingly normal-looking bike, with a light-coloured h*lm*t with a camera or light on the top. I was the one in the ridiculous reflective jacket on the other side of the road.

*'passed' in the sense of going the other way. I don't think many people pass him when going the same way.

Forgot - Wednesday evening, bloke in what I assume was a Lumos helmet, on the Lanark Road near the WoL crossing.

Curious... I thought I'd left the rear third in the garage and its rider in bed.

Maybe they weren't as sick as we feared...

Ah, wasn't the full big rig then - view was obscured by my shed!

I passed a very well dressed elderly man cycling up Mayfield Road earlier on a lovely green bike. Funny shaped frame, it had an extra tube in between the top tube and the down tube and the top tube sloped noticeably up, even though it was attached at the top of the seat tube. This meant that, though it looked like a road bike, the rider was in an upright position.

Can anyone figure out what I'm on about from that description?

    @SRD

On reflection, it's a Norwegian Forest, rather than a Maine Coon cat.

  14. I'd put my mortgage on the bike and homemade trailer carrying a well secured 8ft tall bay tree in the direction of Craigintinny, being a CCE'er

    T'was a sight to behold!

Council worker fishing an armchair out of the canal at Fountain Bridge this morning.

Assuming someone popped it on the ice overnight for "hilarious" reasons and then the ice melted in that part of the canal.

Two people who I think were doing a traffic count on St John's Road at Kaimes Road. Spokes? Sustrans?

There was a young chap on the towpath near fountainbridge who looked like he was doing a count.

He did seem quite a bit younger than the *ahem* usual demographic of people who might do a count **runs and hides*

@Edinburgh Cycle Training, it was only due to Roibeard that I spotted you had added this to the spotted thread... :-)

Could that have been @arellcat at the controls of a small silver automobile on Comiston Drive at midday?

I fear that rumours of my automobile-related activities today have been greatly exaggerated.

I've been motorbiking it for the past week and just got back to cycling this morning.

Rats. My spotted-fu has deserted me after spotting @Frenchy without ever meeting him. Hubris aplenty.

@david.nutter making good progress across the Colinton Road/Grays Loan lights this evening. I wonder if he's remembered that I've still got a letter for him?

Algo saw me before I saw him, though I heard his passenger before he saw me.

@wingpig - the front passenger was quite silent. The rear one, however, was indeed making her feelings known to everyone within a half-mile radius. Not my most auspicious of journeys home.

Magnatom, "dying in" in London, via a BBC news report.

At least, I'm pretty certain it was Magnatom despite not showing his face, for who else would be at an active travel protest in a kilt and black PoP t-shirt?
