Good night last night cycling the surprisingly segregated streets of London with @veloevol. Good stuff but lots more to do. @StopKillingCycl

Can I add to the top tips for spotting CCE'rs.

    1. Riding an unusual or stylish bike

    2. If off a bike, either a) carrying a pannier it or b) *new tip* wearing a buff.

It was the buff that drew my attention to Daisydaisy at Dynamic Earth this afternoon.

Oh, I also spotted our favourite former EEN transport reporter leaving the anti-Trump protest.

They move on faster than they used to.

I might have been following fimm from the towpath diversion at Fountainbridge up to the west end of the Meadows just now but I wasn't quite confident enough to call out. Brompton and a colourful looking wooly hat.

I was in Brussels the weekend before last. I didn't spot any CCEers but I was pleasantly surprised to spot plenty of Bromptons.

jdanielp was this Monday evening just after 7pm? Were you the person with the very very bright front light? Certainly Brompton and colourful hat is correct. I turned right onto Melville Drive rather than going across The Meadows.

I think I need a sticker for my bag when I'm pedestrianising.

@fimm indeed. Apologies if you were dazzled. I thought about going for an overtake on a few occasions but was being overly cautious due to the awful road surfacing.

@gembo I'll be very impressed if I ever spot a kingfisher using that light. It generally illuminates dogs, rodents, the odd cat, fox or rabbit and, on one occasion, something along the lines of a stoat: I saw two eyes shining back at me briefly from an unexpected height before they vanished, quickly followed by a splash and diminishing rippling noises.

@jdanielp I wasn't dazzled but I did think it was rather bright! However if you are riding in unlit/poorly lit areas (canal?) then I understand why you have it (the big light I have on my road bike for the out of town section of my long commute is just the same - I need it for the unlit section but it is really overkill in town even on its lowest setting).

@amir @paddyirish is farage the collection noun?

@fimm indeed. It isn't anywhere near as bright as some!

    Stoats are stoatally different.

Lovely Brazilian guy loading his ancient cargo trike with shopping at Cameron Toll. Branded as a crepe purveyor but not really one at all.

Maybe, I dunno. Green. He's an ecologist, maybe he makes pancakes too?

Maybe. There certainly used to be a guy at the top of MMW with a cargo bike selling crepes. Or maybe he sold it to your ecologist.

Also more like smelled, but it felt a bit like everyone I cycled past on the way along the canal this evening about 7:30 onwards was smoking the reefer.

The reefer was being heavily partaken on a daily basis recently in that bit of princes street Gardens you go into near the foot of Cockburn street. Takes you round to the mound. A very emo bit of the garden.

White Hitachi class 800 test train @Darlington station.

2 sets of units. One set with seats. The other set completely empty except for ballast slabs of concrete on the floor and one car full of laptops, test gear & engineer type bods.

    Anyone know what this is?

    Built locally -

    "

The first units will be delivered for the Great Western Main Line (GWML), beginning service there in July 2017 and on the East Coast Main Line (ECML) from 2018. These trains will be built at Hitachi's purpose-built facility at Newton Aycliffe, alongside the related electric multiple unit Class 801.

Eddie, that's the first of the series that will take over from Class 91s on the Edinburgh to London runs, and HSTs on the London to Bristol runs.

Bradley Wiggins in an advert at the cinema which, despite 90% of it featuring bikes, turned out to be an advert for Skoda cars.
