The barrier runs across the road near the quite good pub and burger restaurant Holyrood 9a previously known as the Holyrood tap

Ah, not my part of the world.

Previously known as the Holyrood Tavern back when ESCA used to go there. Coincidentally I saw its former landlord on London Road yesterday afternoon.

It was the first E that I thought of...

Spotted Tulyar's excellent post-PoP letter in yesterday's EEN. Doesn't seem to be online though.

- Police scuba-divers in the Union Canal between Gibson Terrace and Murdoch Terrace around 11 this morning. Perhaps related to the incident at Gibson Terrace a few weeks back?
- Four police officers on bikes along the canal towpath by Harrison Park again around 11am. Is it a common sight?

"Is it a common sight?"
Four - only on PoP days!

A squadrone volante of four police officers on bicycles heading up Torphichen Street. 20mph limit observed, no punishment passes.
A guy trying to fix his bike on George IV Bridge kneeling in the bus lane. He spoke little English and was possibly slightly mad so I advised him to do it on the pavement instead and left him to it.

two polis trying to find an address near the leamington lift brige
someone had gone along after the lift bridge on the parallel road where the pregnancy place is, breaking off the wing mirrors of all cars and then out on to Gilmore place all rubbish from all bins had been couped over and strewn
Posted 7 years ago # -
It was quite a lot of rubbish. I had fun with a car who thought their right to overtake me to get to the KT red light meant it was right and proper for me to cycle over it.

@gembo @piosad a proper 'rubbish cycle lane' that was..
an awful lot of 'must get in front' all along there this morning - both cyclists and drivers.

@gembo we were walking on the other side of the canal last night (around 1am) when these drunken lads were doing all the mess... There were three of them. We heard them and we chose to not to interfere... We passed them at Leamington lift bridge and they left us alone (just) "Leave him alone. He is walking with his girl".
They seemed to be planning to drive (heard them saying "who's got the keys?") when headed down Gilmore Park.

@gembo I was wondering about the rubbish on Gilmore Place.
I spotted SRD heading east on NMW this morning, but didn't realise in time to attempt to make myself known to her.

In addition to PY people I observed earthowned up going up the Canongate and Arellcat going up MMW.

Could be the polis I spotted trying to find the address were seeking the culprits. Bill I'm glad they left him alone walking with his girl. Maybe they have some moral compass and just got the wrong cocktail of drugs and drink? Or maybe we should bring back the birch.
Incredible to think we used to whack disaffected youth with tree branches

David Torrance unshackling his green three speed Brompton from the stand next to the Scaffolding Bike™ and making his way down Chambers Street. He should take primary a bit more assertively if he is to live.

I spotted him + bike at POP too. Hadn't realised he was a cyclist.

@Dave heading west on the towpath at the end of the aqueduct this evening (well I'm pretty sure it was Dave, although he seemed to have more beard than I remember). I was in civvies on an Elephant Bike*
*did I tell you that I had an Elephant Bike?

David Torrance 'spotted' on the radio talking about going to PoP.
'Can't speak about other cities, but Edinburgh not bad - live near Leith Walk, road surface still terrible but getting cycle lanes.'
Shereen Nanjiani "good" (and then something about being frightened to cycle).
