By coincidence I happened to be at McDonald Road library again today, around the same time as yesterday. Spotted the bike wheel smasher on foot (no shorts, same rucksack) so maybe he passes that way regularly. The blue bike is still behind the railings, looking forlorn. This time I noticed it has a very thin cable lock attached, so maybe it was "locked" at the bike parking before the nutter decided to attack it...

That kind of physical rage is rather terrifying, regardless of whether it was his bike or not.

@fimm at Fountainpark, contemplating the torrential rain this afternoon. She appeared to be on foot. I was sheltering in the entrance with mini-Greenroofer, also contemplating the rain and waiting hopefully for it to ease off before we could ride home.
I took the Elephant Bike*, which proved very useful as a mobile bike rack to lock mini-Greenroofer's bike to. The bike racks at Fountainpark are utterly utterly useless.
*did I ever tell you that I had an Elephant Bike?

No, I don't think you did. Tell us more about it!

The amount you talk about Elephant bikes it almost like you are on commission (pot kettle noir I know...).
Have you thought of becoming a distributor for them ;-)

@Frenchy
Signs with grey backgrounds. Nice.

I was envious of Greenroofer as I passed him on the towpath on the way into town earlier given that he was taking it easy, whereas I was in a bit of a rush due to having left work later than intended... Today was not the day for being in a bit of a rush on the towpath given that it was so busy. A high five with gembo as I was approaching town following towpath chaos (mostly the result of several cyclists who were clearly in more of a rush than I was).

Was able to stop and admire greenroofer's elephant bike. He has ordered a wheen of them for RBS Gogarburn

Guy came belting past me on Minto Street last night. Trek racer with midget frame, Dura Ace kit with carbon cranks all Rules being complied with. Not letting him away with that - tailed him on the Scaffolding Bike to the lights.
Had his name and a Saltire painted on the top tube. Craig Callum I think. Known rider?

This morning in Roseburn Park, lovely orange and white Roberts old-school road frame bike. Owner was by it on a bench reading a novel and smoking a large Sherlock-style pipe.

I think someone said Hi to me crossing the Gifford Park crossing yesterday on the way home from work. Sorry if I blanked you, I have to turn right there so am thinking about who is behind and in front of me.

One of these attached to a helmet http://www.wora.co.uk/product/portholic-armband (?)
Posted 7 years ago # -
Is the helmet also attached to someone's head, or could the armband just be attached to the helmet to stop it getting lost?
Posted 7 years ago # -
The former.
But the later is probably an explanation.

Disabled bus, due to non-retracting step.
Had to be wound in with what looked a big Allen key.

The blue bike is still behind the railings at McDonald Road library, looking forlorn. I suppose no-one is interested in an old Emmelle steel framed women's MTB with a pringled back wheel.
Maybe I should alert the Bike Station?

They won't want it either.
Straight to scrap for pennies!

Wish he'd get back to his work on land reform, to be honest.

I'm not sure Andy Wightman should be buying a fork from that man.
Posted 7 years ago # -
I wouldn't buy a used fork from that guy either. Is there not a meme about newspaper photos of people pointing at the thing that has made them angry? Perhaps Andy's ire has shifted from neo-feudalism to steerer tubes that have been cut too short?

Mutual spot of @chrisfl on the Harrison Road bridge over the canal. I was pedestrianing with the child bike seat that I had left at nursery due to a new one having just been installed (cough) and was transporting home. (I may have a Hamax seat to give away now.)
