Way more than the usual number of cyclists going my way this morning (city to Gyle)
Including a bamboo single speed, a bike pulling a kiddy cave and a Brompton all within a few minutes.
CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 15years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.
RULES No personal insults. No swearing.

I see that bamboo bike fairly regularly.
Viewers of STV will see Chris from Cycle Service at his workstand on STV2 station ID. I keep meaning to tell him he's on before Halla Mohieddeen most evenings.
Tonight they were in Amsterdam where obesity levels were twice the Dutch average before they started action.
Clip here shows an Urban Arrow (yes I know the kids aren't pedalling but still has a place in clean transport).
Nice chat with a guy on a paper bike who loves it. Commutes from Blackhall to the meadows.
Good looking bike.
I think I chatted with him recebtly too. Green bike? not seen a paperbike in that colour before.
This soft-eared sad-faced languid beauty at the Edinburgh Tool Library earlier.
Is it possible to borrow him?
I'm liking the new direction @unhurt is taking for the Spotted thread.
Gembo, resplendent in a pink top. He did spot me first.
When my mum bought her Paperbike she was able to specify the Pantone colour she wanted
@frenchy - but who would ever bring her (I think she's a her) back?
@fimm I think you can usually just stop at "Gembo, resplendent".

Fair point. I've been meaning to look into the tool library already, a greyhound will definitely push me into action.
Wasn't sure but thought it looked more like a boy's snout.
You may be right, I didn't know there were nose diffs! May also have been the shove I need to go and join. Also they seem like a fantastically well run organisation on the basis of last night's exhibition/event (and the beer was good).
The tool library is awesome - there are some cool things happening there - this related thread seems to have gone past unnoticed...

Females have slightly shorter, slimmer snouts. They're also just generally a bit smaller all round. It's not easy to tell from a photo, but I can usually tell when I meet one.
Seems an appropriate place to plug the Greyhound Trust. There's a branch in Liberton, and they have walks every Sunday morning. You can borrow a greyhound!
Like a Greyhound Library?!? I am VERY interested!
you can borrow a greyhound
Why have I only found this out now?! Potentially life changing.
I'll see you a greyhound and raise you a furious 2year old.
Any takers ?
What shape is their snout?

One of my regular training routes goes round the back of it. I've been trying to make friends with them for years, but they have spurned my advances.
Anyone interested in borrowing greyhounds, please feel free to PM me.
There's a bit more information here: https://www.greyhoundtrust.org.uk/regional-branches/706-edinburgh
Note that the list of dogs available to adopt is out of date.

They are notoriously aloof, but are also incredibly affectionate; much like cats. Their friendship is very easy to buy - try some cheese.
I'm terribly interested in this greyhound borrowing notion.
While we're talking about Greyhounds, it seems that plans are afoot (again) to try build a dog-racing track outside Wallyford, there's a campaign against this for the obvious animal welfare reasons that may interest readers here;
@fimm, you got me back tonight though.
This morning I spotted a gent on an elephant bike. He was attempting to cycle west down pat the point hotel which is correct, though cry prk in the lane.
His elephant bike was dark blue with three letters in white R, B, S. Apparently there is a herd of them.
A fictitious Scottish village being built next to Craigmillar Castle. Some research had clearly gone into it - one of the buildings was an ersatz cruck-framed cottage.
@IWRATS: Is this another Outlander related thing? They were up at Loch An Eilein a few weeks ago, on the same day as there was a Golden Retreiver club meet up. I found the latter far more interesting.
@Stickman
Likely Robert de Brus I think. I could not attract the attention of the scenarist.

Pretty sure it's for a film about Mary, Queen of Scots.
As long as it is historically accurate then I am happy. ;-)
Although Mary QoS mostly kept spaniels, but did have Italian greyhounds.
