@iwrats, yes maybe that was it. Lot of injury and number of people died in those camps.
Original Navigator was building a canal then a railway. I.e. Navigating a channel over the land
CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 15years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.
RULES No personal insults. No swearing.

A possible Morningsider at North Bridge/Waterloo Place junction this morning? He had his head slightly turned so I couldn't get a proper look.
A trio of people in cyclist clothing conversing and pointing at the road - Lauder Road at its junction with Grange Road
@amir - possibly to do with this?

Kim & Urban Arrow loitering outside The Bicycle Works. I was late so didn't stop to say hi.
Another Urban Arrow loading up with shopping and children at Cameron Toll last night. Suspect Mr Weezee at the helm?
Public street but private fence at the top of Glenogle Road. Unfriendly...
If your bicycle was stolen by a security guard and held, would the police stand on your side?
Pretty fundamental principal of Scottish law that one person can't punish another (has to be an agent of the court)
I have tweeted wondering to where they might be removed. The Tanfield-edinburgh.com people don't seem to be on Twitter themselves, nor are http://www.rockspringpim.com/(just LinkedIn and for some reason google+) but @investedinburgh are, as are the estate agents...

Clamping cars on private land in Scotland already held to be extortion under Black v Carmichael (1992) SCCR 709. Might be the same deal here. Also cutting the lock might result in a scolding even if the attachment of the lock wasn't legal either.
I've asked those involved who are on Twitter if threatening to cut people's locks & take their property is really the neighbourly solution.

This is exactly what Wilmington's Cow said when this came up outside the Starbucks on Middle Meadow Walk. Blog here: https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2245269363160518061

Oh, thanks @Frenchy.
I wonder if a written threat to destroy your lock and steal your bike isn't anti social behaviour and the community plod should be informed
Oh. Perhaps a counter-sign could find its way onto the railings...
Gave a lift to a neighbour this morning, the "spot" is his from yesterday
"A woman wearing a bike helmet with built in lights and INDICATORS!" Going up smokey Brae I think he said.
Both him and his daughter thought it very effective and very cool.
I thought there has to be a reasonable chance it was @SRD
Probably been a spot before but has anybody come across (what appears to be) the blind or visually impaired cyclist on the NEPN? I have passed him a few times now heading towards Davidson's Mains / Silverknowes past the 5-way junction at about 8ish in the morning usually.
Very impressed at the thought of someone cycling with limited or no vision...i don't think i'd be brave enough.
I have been curious as to how it all actually works, as in, i think i was overtaking once and, even though he (the visually impaired cyclist) was quite a bit off i heard a bell going off (and it wasn't your normal bell).
A rare Helios on Helios spot tonight in West Edinburgh.
Sadly neither @acsimpson or I had any passengers so it was only a single High5.
I was worried about crossing streams, but it was okay.
@ect nope. not me. sorry!
my spot from today: a woman on a widetubed low step through bike, with a child on a very wobbly/angled tagalong and a shortlegged dog on a lead. heading from agyle place to MMW at rush hour...
Forgot one from the other day - guy on a bronze bike with a funny shaped frame, possibly a Pedersen, going up Liberton Brae.
Frenchy, I saw the bronze Pederson earlier on today too.
Parked outside Glenogle Baths:
And I have identified the owner of the Other Surly at work. He is new.
Hankchief, it wasn't the lack of passengers on your Helios which concerned me it was the lack of any trailer. We'll have to wait for another occasion for a high 45.
Soulcycles advertising that they're stockists for Christiana trikes. maybe we'll start spotting some of those too.
A recumbent, Westbound at Bilston.
Not a nice road to cycle at the best of times. Think I might feel a little intimidated sitting so low on it.
Yesterday at Cramond: two matching Gazelles, hired from Hart's, and a hand cyclist.
@Stickman - that would probably have been me taking advantage of the serious tailwind for an easy handcycle along the promenade to Victoria Park and back along the NEPN out of most of the wind
@kaputnik heading east on the A8 this evening. He was without an Elephant Bike. I was waiting at a bus stop, also without an Elephant Bike, having dropped it off at Hart's Cyclery for a dynamo to be fitted.
