Vehicle turning out of the West Approach Road onto Lothian Road stuck in the yellow box as the lights went green the other way. So far so humdrum. But the car was proudly liveried as 'Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency'....

Possible Roibeard heading south just on Potterow at West Nicolson Street. If not him, someone else in a very similar red hat and reflective vest.

    @unhurt

Reflective vest. Thoughtful socks. Pensive pants.

Seems like a perfectly good description of Roibeard to me...

Matt at Just Bike Repairs has made a Christmas tree out of bike wheels. It is good. Has flashing lights, is golden. Sits outside the shop

A man on a bike which was modeled after a dirt bike and was either a moped or an ebike. There was a heavy-looking box in the main frame triangle.

The ugliest bike known to humanity chained up outside Cameron Toll.

The frame, a Giant e-bike with the battery missing from the space behind the seat tube. Three levels of handlebar, all festooned in stuff. Rat-infested panniers in every possible place. A leprous saddle. The front wheel had some massive hub, possibly formerly a motor, but with an actual (totally redundant) cassette on one side. How it had been tortured into the forks I dared not even look to see.

@Iwrats your phone has a camera, yes? Why no image of this creature? (Via laptop cable upload if necessary, I know your phone is dead retro.)

Meanwhile, internet sadly lacks images of rats in panniers. (I checked.) But I did find this:

@HankChief, yes that was me. Sorry I didn’t react, I think my mind was elsewhere. I only realised it must have been you when it took me about 10 minutes to cycle along the length of your Helios plus tag along, at which point I was past you. Mornings....

Passed LaidBack on NMW this morning - would have attempted a Hi 5, but he was too reclined and I was too upright!

    Previous post was 10100.

As CCE has a certain number of members with arcane interests in railways, I post this.

(Near the top of any ugly list.)

Matt at justbikerepairs of Juni Green claims he did not make the excellent Xmas tree sculpture it just appeared outside his shop Monday morning. He has zip tied it to the fence to stop it blowing over. He is asking Who put it there?

Picked up a copy of Prototype Locomotives while at the recent grand reopening of Barrow Hill with Tulyar. Has several pages on the Fell loco.

@gembo's blue gentleman's half hose at Lochrin Basin I think. Tall, speedy, grey leggings, black baggies and a fluoro jacket plus black backpack?

This morning, spotted a big black, children-laden Urban Arrow turning left at the top of MMW.

Also encountered what must be one of the fastest Brompton riders in Edinburgh. Damn he was quick. Time I lost spent unable to filter the torpedo through traffic was equalised by time he lost waiting at traffic lights and we reached the east end at the same time, having started somewhere around Morningside.
