  1. @wingpig, spotted chalking POP promo messages in Lochend park last night as Gordy and I made our way home from the Leith Feeder recce ride.

Stopped and had a nice wee chat for a while.

A woman and two children who turned onto the very top bit of Lanark Road West and cycled down to the traffic lights where they turned right into Balerno.

I could have overtaken but chose to hang back and protect them from any poor passes from behind. I'm not sure if this was helpful or unwelcome...

The context-sensitive ads served to me on the Bikeradar website at the moment are from RBS for car loans.

Yesterday evening in my village, the unmistakable big bushy beard and cycling cap of a presumably homewardbound Uberuce.

Early this morning, somewhere like West Mayfield, I exchanged greetings with Hannah from The Cycle Service.

On a convoluted route around Meggetland, Polwarth and Gilmore place (trip to the allotment followed by a reconnaissance ride along the route of the HP Feeder Ride) I spotted a bazillion bicycle of all kinds, with rides of all types and ages and:

    • A bloke in shades on a recumbent bicycle heading west on the towpath
    • @piosad and small piosads (The first time we've spoken in Real Life (TM))
    • @Kim who sidled up beside me on the EdFoC Urban Arrow at the King's junction
    • @jdanielp (on foot)

A large gold sphere trapped In The remains of the weir beneath the bypass, straight out of The Prisoner or just the remnant of a Colinton Party?

OK maybe I was wrong, maybe it is me that needs stuff explained in simple terms. Ever think of that?

@iwrats, never given that any consideration But I am considering now. I have considered this now. I do not think you need stuff explained in simple terms.

Was shooting the breeze with colleague at work today about an old Pro who supervised my colleague when she was a student some feedback the Old Pro gave - Darling, if you do not understand the concept we are talking about, you will have to go back to working in Boots.

I do not think you need stuff explained in simple terms.

Surely this may depend upon the nature of the stuff in question?

@iwrats, can I ask when you say "stuff" do you mean all stuff from simple stuff to complex stuff? If complex, like the rest of us you may need it explained in simple terms?

I don't know if a golden globe floating in the Water of Leith is complex or not. Aren't all situations equally complex? Scienceists get all 'oh but you can describe the interaction of two point masses exactly' but they forget that the bodies in question might be feeling sad or the observer might be wondering what to have for her tea.

It was nice of @unhurt to suggest that I only need remedial help with some subjects, wasn't it?

Woman in "normal" clothes on a step-through ebike heading into the Guide Dogs building on St John's Road. She did that effortlessly stylish thing of half-stepping off and gliding before stopping which I just can't do.

More of this sort of thing please.

Also spoke to Claire and partner yesterday as we went through the roadworks outside Haymarket. We commented on how many bikes were out and about yesterday. Same again today - loads around.

More of this sort of thing also please.

some situations can also be Sticky.

Term Sticky Problem comes from design but can be applied widely. i.e. despite complex or simple explanations they remain stuck.

Spooted a Nihola cargo trike loading up on our way home last night. Impressively large cargo area capable of carrying 4 children and a motor capable of taking 120Kgs up hills.
