An Urban Arrow at KB, with a very curious pedestrian onlooker.

Locked up outside Ryries yesterday I saw a stunning looking, gleaming blue and copper bike. Someone must know who owns that. Hub gear, Brooks saddle, metallic blue frame with hammered copper mudguards and front rack to match. The evening's sunlight was really showing it off.

    @dougal

I know of such a machine with hammered aluminium mudguards....

I'm pretty sure these were copper. Maybe it was the sunlight? Maybe I was too giddy on the joys of summer?

@IWRATS, it would appear the Maybot is in town today attempting to shore up the Union. That might be the reason for extra security?

@jdanielp I must admit that as I heard your bell I thought that it sounded like yours and then as contemplating whether I would ever see you on the towpath :D

The garden has caused a stir on social media and even stopped a Conservative councillor in his tracks as he used a cycle path nearby.

I pass that most days and it has made me smile, but the terrifying dummies inside are the stuff of nightmares

The aftermath of an accident on the canal towpath between the Scott Russell Aqueduct and Cultins Road this morning. One person with a bloodied face was lying to the side of the path and another was stood with a mobile phone, while a couple of a bikes and other cycling bits were nearby. I slowed down and asked if they were ok in passing and was thanked and told that somebody was on the way to assist. Hopefully nothing too serious. It wasn't obvious if both people had been involved or the second had merely stopped to help out. I cycled a little more cautiously thereafter.

Spotted by one of my oldest mates on the way home last night, totally unexpectedly. We averaged out our routes home so we could chat until they became incompatible.

Try that in your motor car.

Met a German cycle-tourist at Leamington lift bridge earlier on, as he was showing some signs of route-finding difficulty (it didn't help that the bridge was up at the time). Turned out he was heading for NCN1 to go north to John O' Groats (presumably not all today...), after which he plans to come back south to... Lands End.

I was heading home via NCN1, so was able to guide him out to Davidson's Mains, at which point I could only wish him luck for the rest of the journey.

A woman I've been passing for years on my commute has got an ebike. Also got overtaken today by another woman on an ebike. Yesterday on Magdala Crescent I got overtaken by a guy in a suit nonchalantly riding an upright Gazelle. For the sake of my pride I hope it was an ebike.

Might have been a more useful article if the chip-wrapper had included a pic of the lad's bike.

Emma Pooley on Colinton Road at 0730 this morning (which I appreciate may be unlikely)

If it wasn't her, then it was a petite blonde woman in a magenta top riding a road bike with speed and confidence who looked really really like her. I do mean really like her.

Of course, if this was you and you don't think you look like Emma then my sincere apologies.

130m of cyclists today... All the way from the Foam Centre to the traffic lights (no, we didn't manage to get through in a single phase!).

    That could possibly equally be...

"He followed me down my road to the house shouting friendly greetings. Creepy"

Had I had the legs going up the hill I might have been able to holler a bit earlier. Nice nonetheless to exploit the ability to detour easily travelling by bike brings...
