The Catalunians and Scots have laid a rose at the Spanish Civil War lump of rock in the East Princies St Gdn. I think it will not be removed by Franco's forces.

I think I spotted the erstwhile Wilmington's Cow this morning powering Chumba westwards along the Balgreen path.

@gembo.. my grandfather was in the first international brigade from Scotland .. i like that wee lump of rock. Reported killed in action, obituaries in the Times and the Daily Worker, turned out he was injured but survived and returned very much alive. :-)

A 'tricky' high-five with gembo on the canal towpath this morning as he was exiting from the bridge under Viewforth and I was exiting from the metal chicane.

An Elephant Bike leaving Edinburgh Park, I had just been overtaken by a big black car despite already being over the speed limit. The car continues, to the corner on Lochside Court where despite the Elephant Bike and a another cyclist on the corner tries to take the corner, although they did work out this was a bad idea and back off.

I did overtake the Elephant Bike, but he caught up at ALL the lights.

If it was a pale green bike, it was probably Wilmington's Cow heading back to the pasture.

Some monitoring equipment appeared on the Scott Russell Aqueduct during the week, chained to the railing on the towpath side. It appears to be aimed at the City Bypass. So far I haven't stopped to try to determine what it is.

Spotted the infamous rubber kerb of Gayfield Sq on way home from Kushis tonight. Superb aloo chat starter followed by average matter paneer. Stuffed so good to cycle.

Party going on in east new town town house was fairly typical of the genre

It was meant to be a fox, but the ears are quite long. Maybe a fennec.

Family cycling on the A702 - including a child in a trailer. Not a journey I'd make myself, even without a trailer, but all power to them.

Thanks for the shout @srd. I had been on the look out for your splendid banners for the procession, but the point at which you caught me I was rendezvous-ing with the weezettes at the meadows ice-cream van (yes, I repay my sons for taking part in feminist art with ice cream).

Two chaps cycling up Green cluegh the first was a hundred metres in front of the second. The second turned to me and shouted, jocularly, his mate (the first chap) had an electric bike and that's why he's so far ahead. Neither offered a struggling runner (your humble narrator) a backy.

On Saturday afternoon, a couple breezing along Nicolson Street on rather nice electric mountain bikes. I was at a bus stop and jealous.

A silver-haired couple on Dutch-looking people speaking what may have been Dutch, cycling down Lothian Road and along George Street - my route home. I felt embarrassed at our terrible roads and our terrible drivers.

lot of nice taxis with balloons on top twice today - once at meadows and once going down regent's road, loudspeaker going with kind drivers giving of their time. Jolly Holly.

There was something in my eyes, it may have just been the acceptance of imminent death.
